Fairport Montessori Academy

Fairport Montessori is what a Montessori, and care for young children, should be. To have an option like this in Whitby/Durham is a boon to the local population. Incredibly high standards, friendly and welcoming, great communication and the staff and teachers are beyond incredible. Our family has experienced several Montessori schools across Ontario, through relocations, and this is by far the best one. It’s so fantastic we drive by 2 other options in the area to take our daughter to Fairport. Thank you Fairport Montessori for being so wonderful!!

Our experience at Fairport Montessori school has been exceptional. The teachers, staff, and Montessori curriculum are outstanding among the others we have attended. Highly recommended if you are looking for a Montessori school in Whitby.

This school is incredible! I am so happy with how my daughter is learning and developing. She loves going to school! Great class sizes with loads of one on one with the teacher.

After taking my three year old son out of a daycare that I had growing concerns about, I decided to try a Montessori approach. I was familiar with the term but I didn't think my son would know the difference between the two approaches at such a young age. He thrives on schedules, while the daycare seemed quite chaotic whenever I picked him up. The Montessori guide and staff do seem to genuinely care about his development and him as an individual; they're professional in appearance and manner and the Montessori space clean and well maintained, unlike some of the other Montessori schools I had visited. The academy also allows for my son's dietary restrictions and the meals provided are healthy and balanced. I highly recommend the academy.

Emailed them at least 5-6 times, called them more than 10 times and left messages but no one bothers to return calls.

Fairport offers an authentic Montessori experience with an excellent group of certified staff. Our son attended for one year before he went off to JK. Nader is a wonderful Head of the school, is understanding and approachable, and very pleasant to deal with. The school classrooms are set up well, with lots of lighting; outdoor grounds are also really nice and have a lot of interesting play equipment for the kids. We highly recommend Fairport.

I was referred to Fairport through a friend whose daughter attended after sharing my frustrations with our school/daycare provider at the time. While that one was a Montessori school as well, from the moment I took my tour and spoke with Dr. Kabboul I knew I wanted my child to be in the Fairport environment. The space is an inviting, clean, safe and inspiring place for children. There is diversity and representation within the school’s staff and students. Fairport’s commitment to being fully accredited with AMI also showed me this was a school fully dedicated to following the principles and practices of Montessori (very important as anyone can use the Montessori name without having teachers who are certified to teach the Montessori method).Having been at the school for a year now, I’ve seen my child blossom. They have developed focus, care for their environment and those around them, independence and the start of social and communication skills that I know will help them navigate an increasingly challenging world. Mrs. Massie, and all of the teachers, assistants and facilitators I’ve met at the school are incredible. There is warmth and care whenever I drop off/pick up my child. There is a stable, solid, comforting feeling in the way Mrs. Massie guides the children in her classroom. Her classroom has a beautiful hum of activity and you very much get the feeling that the children are respected which is reciprocated to their teachers and peers. Any scuffles are deftly redirected with a focus on what the child can do versus what they can’t. They are invited to be actively engaged in their learning journey, given freedom within limits, and allowed to explore their thoughtfully prepared environment and choose what they wish to work on. It sounds silly perhaps, but it’s clear these are little people growing and developing who they are in relationship to those around them. It’s a very moving and powerful thing to watch as a parent. It reaffirms why I chose Fairport as the place my child spends so much of their time, at such a formative period in their life.Dr. Kabboul has consistently gone above and beyond for my family and other families at the school. His presence is constant and his communication with parents open, active and always focused on what is best for our children while balancing the needs of his staff. He is an empathetic, engaged, positive and solution-orientated administrator who seems to deeply understand and want to support parents and their families. He has made our family feel very much a part of the Fairport community and creates events and spaces for parents to come together and learn. Through ongoing initiatives supporting the professional development of his teachers and staff at the school, it is clear he values his team highly and wants to support them too. I can’t speak highly enough about my experiences at Fairport. Thank you to everyone there who makes it such a special place.
