I came to a three day workshop with zero experience and an overly ambitious project. I left with two magnificent hats and a wonderful sense of accomplishment. From the moment I walked through the door, David could not have been more encouraging and supportive, and I could not have had a better time. The experience gave me a fascinating glimpse into the millinery couture world and a better understanding of the talent and mastery required to create those works of art. David Dunkley's hats are exquisite and his willingness to share his expertise is incredible.

David is amazing. His work is jaw dropping. I can’t wait to get my custom bridal hat with veil. He took time to try ideas and showed me what it was going to look like. He’s so great!!Update: my hat was fabulous for our wedding. He's expensive, but good.

Absolute pleasure dealing with David and his team. After being turned away from other hat specialists nearby, I was given prompt and friendly service despite there being a long wait to book a full appointment. They were able to quickly adjust my hat and provide advice. I look forward to coming back to this gem of a shop, especially once he gets his tool for pencil rolling! Highly recommended.

So here is the problem...you may find that you develop a hat fetish after visiting this millinery!David has a great selection of his handmade hats, AND you can tell the craftsmanship, AND trust me no one will think your hat from David's came off the display at the department store!The staff are accommodating and knowledgeable and, well, just fantastic!I will be back and so will you after your first visit!

From the moment we walked into David's shop, we knew we were in the right place to find what was required. He was incredibly friendly but at the same time, very professional. He showed my daughter a number of styles and she having settled on one, produced a beautiful, custom made fascinator in two days! But it didn't stop there - when we went in to pick it up, David fitted it to her exactly. David is a treasure! If you need a special piece, he's your only choice!

Our puppy destroyed my wife's favourite hat, and the other milliners I spoke to seemed to think it couldn't be saved. However, I brought it to David and he did an absolutely beautiful restoration, with creative new flourishes that made it look better than it did in the first place, and he turned it around in record time to be ready for my wife's birthday. It was the kind of experience that restores one's faith in customer service!!!
