Shaughnessy Restaurant
Menu is a bit limited with half of the menu are breakfast food (so lots of carbs in general). They do make great focaccia bread and the salad was fresh also. Chicken breast was juicy and well seasoned but the star is really that crunchy focaccia bread.For the croissants, kind of regret that I didn’t ask them to swap my hash brown with salad instead since it’s a lot a lot of potatoes. Poached eggs are a bit too overcooked for me, I think you’ll need to ask them specifically if you want runny eggs.The honey lemon drink was nice but I’ll probably ask for a bit more honey next time

Shaughnessy Restaurant
Wow! What a great experience. We visited here from WA state and. Was really a great spot to stop at. After checking out the gardens, we stopped here and it was so amazing. The host was able to fulfill our requests which we really appreciated. Our server was amazing. He was able to make suggestions and explain any questions we had about the menu. He really worked with us to make sure we had a great experience. I got the pesto salmon and it was seriously so delicious and the perfect amount of food to keep me full and happy on the drive back home. There are great vegetarian and gluten free options too. All the meals we had in Canada were great but this meal was the best we had and the perfect way to end our trip! I appreciate the whole staff and the service we had it was very great. Thanks so much everyone!

This was our 1st time dining at Shaunessys for quite a long time. Well, it was as spectacular as I remember it. We arrived early for our reservation and we were seated immediately. Our server Terri, was absolutely a dream and had a excellent sense of humour. He treated us so very well and was helpful with understanding and maneuvering the menu selections.We ordered our tea, and it was perfect. Hot, and the water had been boiled, it was not tepid.You can tell!We shared an appetizer and glad we did, because when our meal arrived it was quite substantial. I had Braised Short Rib, and hubby had Supreme Chicken, and the meal size was more than expected, not that we are complaining because it was very very good & we did not leave any leftovers.The parking available is vast, & free, added bonus! The washrooms are lovely and clean and all are Handicapped accessible... Can't wait to go back there and try dessert and coffee!

The cafe has a nice atmosphere, with natural light and garden view. Food is surprisingly good. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed a great meal at Shaughnessy Restaurant. Our food was delicious and the servers were attentive and helpful. Reservations are recommended when there are special events at VanDusen Botanical Gardens.

Our family got set menus and dined here during new years eve. All of the dishes were served presentably and all was very yum!We have been here before and will definitely come back again. Make your reservation through their website before going. Specially when on a weekend.

My wife and I made a last minute decision to go the the Shaughessy restaurant at the last minute. They were able to accommodate us as it was not real that busy. Several tables were empty. Our server was pleasant and we placed our order in a timely manner. But that is where timeliness ends, it took 45 minutes for our food to come, we were told it was because of a bridal party in the other room, however we watch them all come in 10 minutes after we did. Once the food arrived it was good. I had the Chicken Pot pie and my wife had the cheese burger. We were offered a free desert for the wait, I had the lemon tart and my wife declined. The food was tasty. The wait time was terrible so go when you have lots of time. We did not do to the gardens but I have been in the past and they are wonderful.

We were here for a private party. The food was wonderful considering this was a group menu. Great, attentive service, and a wonderful setting of garden view!
