The Octave Music Centre

I have lived in Guelph for nearly 30 years but somehow didn't get to this particular music store. That was an amateur error which has now been rectified. Octave is a wonderful little retailer with a compelling selection of guitars, keyboards, pianos, amplifiers and much, much more including repair and maintenance services. On my first visit I was looking for a keyboard amplifier and Octave had both models in stock that I was interested in trying. The staff went out of their way to help me out, pulling the one model from a box in the back and helping me set up and play with the amp while I was testing them (and I now own one of them). Their knowledge and experience shines through when you're asking them questions and I am made to feel very comfortable with the information I'm being provided rather than just feeling they're pushing a sale. Some very interesting products which I continue to research and explore including a completely passive internal pickup for acoustic guitars which frankly sounded amazing so I'm considering having them replace the microphonic one in mine. They have quite a lot of interesting things going on here so it's probably worth your time giving them a look. It is worth noting that among their many offerings is an excellent selection of Godin guitars which are a personal favourite of mine and I recommend them highly to any player who will listen. Nice shop and collection of choices for every instruments and staff was very friendly and he's not even charged for tuning.I would always suggest it is best shop for neighborhood and thankyou for the help and kindness to outsider like me.

Awesome place, prices are fair and staff are friendly. Greg set up my guitar and he did a fantastic job, really knows his stuff. Couldn’t recommend them enough.

Great little shop. Great selection of guitars, pianos, and other misc instruments.Made the trip from our of town to check out a display model. Was not disappointed - staff were extremely friendly & helpful. No hesitation to help in any way they could.I would strongly consider their school program if I lived closer. Their instructors seem to really know they're stuff.

Vast collection, friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming staff. My son ended up buying one of their self designed Bridgeport guitars and couldn't be more satisfied with the product, the experience in the store and the great deal he received. Highly recommended music store!

Went in with my partner who thought he was looking for a Fender guitar. Kyle G who is a drummer was working, he was really honest about his guitar knowledge (not so much) but more than made up for it by being super friendly. Alex found a whammy bar to make the sale complete.Left with a Schecter Super Shredder and a happy man with yet another guitar. Great staff and fair prices.

Perfect place for anything guitar and piano! I had my acoustic guitar restrung and serviced here and they did an amazing job. Also took piano lessons a couple years back and learned a lot. Great prices and customer service too
