I have shopped here for over 20 years. Friendly store. No pushy sales people. My last visit was to get a 50 year old mechanical wrist watch repaired. The price matched the estimate exactly. The watch lives again and works perfectly.They make custom jewellery as well as pre-made. There are some nice wall clocks and other house ornaments.

I came in for repairs on an extremely sentimental necklace after one of the pendants broke off. They inspected the chain when I dropped it off to make sure it was still in good condition, and it was probably a good idea considering its 25 years old. They repaired it and soldered both the loops on the pendants. They cleaned it as well and it looks like brand new. They were amazing and I will definitely come back for any repairs I may need in the future. Highly recommend them!

Had two necklaces, a bracelet, my husbands wedding band, and watches repaired by Bakelaars. Wished I had gone years ago, the jewellery all looks shiny and new again. Excellent work and friendly and professional service. Highly recommend.

Having had a negative experience in a London Jewelry Store and wanting to shop locally, I inquired at Bakelaar Jewellers in Exeter to see if they could help me find a Pandora charm featuring an African symbol. This was 2 weeks before Christmas. Bakelaar's no longer carry Pandora charms but Maria showed me a catalog and helped me find the perfect Pandora charm for a gift for a family member. It was ordered and arrived in a couple of days. Thank You, Maria for helping me find exactly what I wanted!

My husband's wedding ring recently broke. Since it had been worn for 35 years, I was ready to buy a new one but when I brought it into the store, I was told that it could be repaired. I couldn't believe how beautiful the ring looked when I picked it up. The money spent on the repair was well worth it and actually saved me as I did not have to buy a new one. The service was excellent and I would recommend this store to anyone.

Wednesday evening my ring finger was badly swollen after wasp sting, ring was acting as tourniquet cutting off circulation- doctor unable to take it off. Called at his home, Adrian Bakelaar opened up after hours and with special tool had ring cut in moments - instant relief. This is what we consider excellent service and we highly recommend them to all. John vos
