Big Bite Pita
We ordered from here a few weeks ago (shawarma platters with fries) and it was great, today I ordered a platter with rice and my partner with fries. They forgot to include the fries / drink in the order and the rice was completely inedible, it had large hard clumps in it like it was several days old. Disappointing experience.

I ordered a $26 mixed dish on DoorDash, and it came to $38 with the addition of $2 hummus, the DoorDash fee and $4 for delivery. I hoped this would feed me for two meals, and while it was quite tasty, I finished it in 5 minutes and felt like the price was a rip off, since I was expecting a second serving.Anyway, I called back and offered to see if I could get a more reasonably priced meal, but no dice. Not happy with the service or the portion size, but the food was good, so two stars.

Small portions, fries tasted like an oven baked, no name product. Shawarma came wrapped in a thin tortilla. 'Pita' is right there in their name! Chicken was underseasoned. Counter staff wouldn't add any extra toppings because they didn't 'come with' shawarma. Pickled cucumber was fine, pickled turnip was a no-no. Had to ask to get a table wiped down as none of them were clean. Made the mistake of tipping before tasting the food. The total was what you would expect to pay in a decent restaurant price but the food didn't rate it.

Still shaking my head at paying $16 for a tiny shawarma! Not even in a pita but a regular wrap. I though it was called Big Bite Pita. They should change their name to Big Bite Rip off. For that much it should be three times the size!

I went there after few months and everything has changed for worst! The portion size has been reduced enormously! You spend 20+ bucks to get a tiny take away box. They have removed PITA bread from the Shawarma's and shifted to dampster Tortila wraps. The owner has jacked up the prices of food, reduced the portion and quality of food at the same time!I would never go there again! The meat portion was barely a small layer on top of mountain of fries!BIG bite pita has turned into BIG bite of disappointment!

The staff is pretty rude. They rushed through my telephone call about an order inquiry. I understand if they don't want to keep the line busy. They could've put me on hold while they receive the other call. But their rude verbal comments and then hanging up the phone abruptly left a pretty bad impression on me.Edit: I guess I am not the only one complaining about their customer service. If you look at other reviews for Big Bite Pita, you will find other people's reviews also criticized the rude staff . Not surprising.

Good Mediterranean food. The portions given are more than sufficient. It has tables for dine-in. They offer platers or pita options. Plates come with rice, meat and salad or fries. Variety of soft drinks options are available. They feed the homeless for free everyday from 3pm to 4pm which I felt is a very humane thing to do. They also accept donations to feed the homeless. It's a feel good restaurant.

Where to start. Service: the guy serving us today at lunch was great. Location: super clean, bright and lots of room. The food: Fantastic. We had chicken shawarma plates with rice. We each tried a different salad so we could try both. Everything was really tasty and prepared just right. Will definately be back. Only constructive feedback might be in the name. When my wife said pita I immediately thought of some of the other local pita places. But this is so much more than a pita place. With the plates, the wraps, the pitas, the poutines and more I really hope this places sticks around a long time.

Old review: Great food! One of a kind in St. John’s. Great people. Owner is respectful/friendly and cares about people and the community. Need more places like this. A must try!New review: Use to be great. It’s not worth it anymore. $18 for a small container of rice and chicken that they call “only me”. I understand prices are gone up everywhere but this is pure greed. Tips don’t go to the employee, another greed. Food quality has gone down. Made the mistake of going there 45 mins their closing time 9pm and just got the leftovers. Taking my business elsewhere. Being a business owner myself, they were quick to open two locations but failed to maintain quality, which is clearly an indication of terrible business execution.

Ordered the falafel platter for one. I guess I didn't look close enough at the menu. They charged me almost $17 with tax and tip for some microwaved rice, 4 microwaved falafel and some sauce. What a hustle..
