Vancouver Performing Stars

My daughter has been with VPS since 2014. She started with ballet classes at the local community centers, then moved into year round ballet at the Fraser Studio, and has moved into Musical Theatre. The joy, confidence and excitement she exudes each week of practice is remarkable. I can't thank the VPS Instructors enough for the incredible love, support and professionalism they show to their students. Love witnessing all of the VPS kids shining so brightly on stage!

We’ve been going to Vancouver Performing Stars since 2013. The instructors have been nothing but fun, patient teachers with amazing dance skills! 2020 made them even rise to the occasion even more - first with online classes in the spring to stellar cleaning protocols in the fall. I felt incredibly confident in my decision to send my daughter back in September - kids arrived in masks, had a health check, sanitized then were given a designated spot in the studio that was their personal space. My daughter never complained about going and enjoyed every class as she did pre-covid. We look forward to being back in person to see some of our favourite people.

VPS is an amazing community to be a part of. The classes, instructors, and overall spirit of this organization brings so much joy to our kids.Also, they’ve been very much on the ball in terms of following health regulations and safety protocols during this time. We’ve been super impressed with their diligence in this area, and appreciate the care and caution they’ve been exercising throughout the pandemic. Thank you, Katy and team! We appreciate all you do.

My daughter went for their free hip hop trial class and loved it. She just finished a term and had her show. Everything is so well organized and fun! The drills and choreography were perfect for her age. We already signed up for next term. I hope she can be part of this dance community for the years to come.

A magical experience for my child, that is all about community, amazing and supportive guidance and instruction and the ability to shine in your own special way.

My daughter loves her musical theatre classes at Vancouver Performing Stars! Staff and teachers are friendly and passionate. They truly care about our children and work hard to find opportunities for them to perform on stage and in the community. Year round musical classes and summer musical camps are very well run! Thanks VPS!

My daughter signed up for a summer camp with VPS last year and loved it so much that she joined their full year program this year. This past weekend she was so excited to dance in their Halloween flashmob which was super well choreographed and fun to watch! She loves all of the teachers at VPS as is looking forward to improving her acting, singing, and dancing skills. Thank you!

Both our daughters have been training with VPS Musical Company for the past several years in all things dance and musical theatre. We are completely blown away by this company, the community and the skills and friendships our kids develop along the way. Under the careful and talented guidance of director and founder Katy Schroeder and Miss Rebecca Evans (among many, many other talented artists and creatives on their team) our kids are so lucky to be a part of this musical theatre community in Vancouver.

DISAPPOINTING TO SAY THE LEAST. Absolutely no BIPOC giving “Hip Hop”Classes. Classes taught by non BIPOC are very low energy more like a babysitting class for the children. When I spoke directly to the manager she had a very nonchalant approach to my concerns about her poorly run class, less than qualified instructor and BIPOC representation. Refused a refund or a partial one instead suggested we return to the class with zero changes to the class. We missed half of the classes .NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!
