Pho 39
Went here for the first time. Staff were following covid masking and chair distancing. They also answered an obscure question we had, which is also a good sign of friendly staff. They handed us a menu and another with more authentic specials. A friend I was with had told me the dish we had was good... But it did lack some hallmarks of the actual dish experienced in Vietnam or homecooking(if this helps at all) . It was mainly the broth he had issues with. The congealed blood was good though. Very light and did not feel irony. The food was decent. It's definately a bit on the lighter side. The deep fried squid was definitely pretty good. Texture was just tight between chewy and crunchy. It also came with two sauces. One was shaped like an ocarina lol.We also had an ice coffee, they prepared this for us ahead of time. This was really good for covid safety. I had the soursop smoothie. I never had soursop before. It was quite interesting.. Salty but creamy? For the pho we had #15. The broth is very light, so suitable for a lot of palettes. I personally prefer a stronger broth with more aftertaste. This is the only reason why my score is lower. The staff and food presentation was great. Just not my personal flavour preference really.Overall good place to go if you are in the neighborhood and want a quick eat.

I was in the north side of Edmonton and looking for something to eat and to grab a oil change somewhere.I hit up google maps and it led me to Pho 39 on 137 Ave, think east of that north side movie theatre and west of the superstore on 137 Ave.As usual I dropped in for a late lunch, I went with their 3 pork spring rolls for $6.50 and a large Pho, they only offer small or large, no extra-large here.Which is fine really, you don’t need to feel stuffed after every meal, can always eat later in a couple hours. It was a good size portion. They had a nice selection of sauces, a bottle of brown (oyster? I don’t ask I just eat), siracha sauce, some red hot sauce with some chilies? In it and then the good stuff, the chili oil. They provided a nice kettle of tea, I forgot to order some Vietnamese coffee so I just had water and tea.The restaurant is nice, normal inside, it occupies 2/3rds of the building its in, so it’s a good size with plenty of seating.Staff were pleasant and I forgot to ask for no green onions or cilantro on my Pho when I ordered, but they were good with have them removed before I got my food.I really need to let them know I don’t need the plate of twigs and bean sprouts? You know the little plate with lemon and leaves with the white things. I never use them, and it feels like a waste. The spring rolls were 3 fair sized spring rolls and for $6.50, meh sure. They were nice but nothing special. Just enjoyable fried food, which isn’t badThe Pho was good, plenty of meat and the noodles tasted good. The broth was nice, nothing was outstanding or awesome, it was nice, good Pho, if you want to eat Pho and you are near this place go eat Pho here.

The food was great here! Lots of choice for Vietnamese cuisine. Service was good and the food came quickly. I had Bun Mau 4 colour. Very tasty.

If you pay for something that’s on the menu , with the full list - you deliver what’s included or at least let your customers know otherwise. Would have been totally fine to just swap the meal but to charge someone extra and not include what’s advertised- not a good look. Food that was delivered was ok , 6/10.

Too good there was no time to take a photo! Owner was really sweet and sincerely when I asked her about need satay with a picture from Google reviews. This was the Best beef Satay I had ever had, rich aroma soup and perfect spicy level for me. Would definitely come back! 好吃冲吧

Bad. Papaya salad had mostly lettuce with a generic sweet Thai chili sauce. Pho was watery and flavourless. They had a hoard of their children running and yelling about the entire restaurant which was disruptive. Check out better Vietnamese restaurant options near by like Co Do Hue.

We found this with a Google search and was so happy we did! We brought our friends from Colorado who had never had Vietnamese before and it was an amazing experience. BeBe the waitress was so friendly and helpful and the food was incredibly tasty. We live in south Edmonton but we will drive back just to go here again!

UNBELIEVABLE QUALITY.I'm no stranger to good food and this place delivered that. The onion cake tasted freshly made, I don't even like onion cake and it was amazing. Next we tried the deep fried prawns, again shocked to find the shrimps were sizable and actually had a great shrimp taste not common in frozen pre made food leading us to almost suspect it was made fresh in restaurant. Main course was the Pho soup, it blew my pants off. You can go to any pho restaurant in edmonton and have a decent tasting bowl. This broth knocked our socks off with how much taste and quality went into it. It was dark, hot, and the broth was clean! You can definitely tell this was made in restaurant.I'm going back to grab some pictures of their food because it didn't last long enough on our table to snap one. 10/10 can't say enough about this place.

This evening during a work shift, my coworker and I decided to try some new foods. While we were driving on 137 Ave, we passed by Pho 39. A very convenient location close to our work. We were greeted warmly by our server and seeing that we had very little time to stop for food, the server relayed to the kitchen to get our order out faster, despite it being a busy Friday night for them. We really appreciated it. My coworker's grilled beef vermicelli bowl was fresh and looked awesome. My 5 colours vermicelli bowl (Spring rolls, prawns, grilled meat ball, grilled pork and beef) was the best one I've had in Edmonton. Both orders came with a generous amount of vegetables and fish sauce. Highly recommend this restaurant for excellent Vietnamese cuisine with good value.
