I have watched this business grow for almost 20 years... I go once or twice a year, whenever I am passing by. Whenever I want to impress a cute date. I would go more, if I were more local, or got more cute dates... Speaking of cute dates... theirs are big and tasty! Everything is tasty here! There is a wide range of artisanal products as well. Some local, some from afar. Lots of outdoor picnic tables, and a cozy loft upstairs. This place has everything except a huge parking lot. But who cares, right? Line up down the street if you have to. Get in there. Get it in your face. This bakery is too big for this little town.

Highlights: great coffee & treats, friendly staff, well-maintained gender neutral washrooms upstairs, fun ambianceNOTE: Make sure to check the front parking lot before turning in, as it is very tight to back out of if it’s full, and it’s often busy! There is a second parking lot around the corner as well.Stopped for lunch along the road, great food. They have sauces, preserves, soup, etc. you can buy and take home, a dining room upstairs to eat in at, a picnic area outside for sunny days, and you can order takeout at the front. It can be a bit of a wait at times, but well worth it. They have award winning butter tarts! I got the Harvest salad and some treats, very good dressing and fresh veg. Chicken was a bit dry, but that’s okay. My friend got the jerk chicken wrap and when they say it has heat, take them at their word, even if it’s a small town Ontario cafe! If you have a low tolerance, best to choose something milder. Also, Ritcher’s Greenhouse is just down the road if you’d like to stroll around after your meal.

We visited this cafe on the weekend after we finished going to the Durham forest. This cafe has nice pastries. There is a parking lot in front of the cafe. We lined up to get in. Once we made the purchase we could bring our food out and sat in the outside area. The cafe provides benches and table. The cafe seems very popular for cyclists too. I recommend you to visit this cafe if you are in the neighborhood

First time trying Annina’s bakeshop. They had many great options for drinks, breakfast, lunch, and desserts. Menu was super extensive! This place gets quite busy but the lines move pretty fast. Staff was friendly and I also liked how they have a patio area to sit and eat.

I have driven past this place for years while working and never went in but always wanted to so finally did.It's awesome.I am basing this on the service and the two items I bought but I have no doubt that anything you buy at Annina's will be excellent quality.The butter tarts are great. The pastry is perfect. Flaky and tender and buttery. The way they are meant to be. I felt the filling was almost a pudding like consistency. I do prefer a thicker filling but really, no complaints. The flavour was very good.The cookie I tried was the empire cookie. Very good! Perfect shortbread with that sweet icing and raspberry filling.I can't wait to go back and try the other items.

The must-go place for all cyclists! When I bike, I always look forward the pastry afterwards! This is the perfect stop, and the two treats we tried were both awesome! I will for sure come back to try more:)
