King's Transfer Van Lines

We used King’s Transfer ( by Mackie Moving) in February for 2 moves. We were repatriating from overseas. At the front end of the move the communication was terrible. Our contact Ashley did not return calls or emails promptly. When our air shipment arrived Ashley made an error on the form and we had to chase around to have it fixed and then clear customs. She made the same mistake on our sea shipment causing an extra months delay due to Christmas holidays. It was very frustrating dealing with her. Thankfully our actual movers were fantastic! Spencer, Stan, and team did a great job both times and were very pleasant to deal with. I give a 4 rating because of them. Spencer also did some follow up work for us to help us get a damaged table repaired.

I dealt with the move manager, is was extremely upbeat, friendly and communication was their priority.Moving other peoples belongings is an extremely hard job, and I appreciated their hard work immensely.The movers/packers were extremely punctual. They introduced themselves, did a walk through, asked very specific questions about items in our home, and then immediately got to work.There was also great communication. Multiple times someone would come up and just double check about a picture, TV, couch, dish, etc.They also packed everything thoroughly. We did not take the unpacking service they offer, but we have unpacked the entire kitchen, the TV's, small appliances and most pictures, and have not come across anything that is damaged or broken. Well done! Much appreciated!

Avoid at ALL COSTS. I arranged a move to the United States through Kings. Kings handled the packing and transport, and arranged the insurance. Upon arrival, which was weeks later than promised, a number of my items were damaged as well as my new apartment. I was told to claim for all of these through the insurance, which I did. The claim was denied due to Kings setting up the insurance incorrectly, and now the company will not respond to emails or phone calls. I have been trying to resolve this since June, but am still left with no resolution from the company and multiple damaged items. Literally pick any other moving company!

This review is a based on the crew who did the packing\moving itself. This is the most unprofessional moving company I've experienced, the two men arrived late on day 1 and packed very slowly, including arguing over who would carry what. Today is the unloading day and they're 3 hours late, this is after calling to confirm the start time twice. I'll update this review when\if they finish.

Kings Transfer was amazing to work with. From the time I set up my first meeting to discuss our move and obtain a quote, I knew this company would help us make our move day a smooth and stress free one, and they exceeded my expectations. They took extra care and respect with our belongings and our new home surroundings. I was also able to arrange delivery of custom made furniture and have it set up in our new home. I highly recommend Kings Transfer for any of your moving needs.

This review is long overdue, but I had to leave a comment about how amazing the support from King's was for our move from Vancouver to Calgary. From all of the support coordinating to the very professional teams of movers who packed and moved our goods, stored our goods and finally moving it into our new home on the coldest day this past February. A special mention to Marj who was extremely helpful and responsive. I still can't believe that with all the moving parts not even one glass was broken. Thank you King's Transfer Van Lines

Used them 20 years ago for a local Calgary move. Not cheap but it went great. Used them again for a Calgary to Calgary move plus storage and it was a very different story. The crews on each end were good. But they beat up many expensive furniture pieces during the time in storage and then played the “prove it wasn’t previously damaged” game instead of playing fair. What they were they aren’t.

We have not had a professional mover in a lot of years so we were not sure what to expect after accepting your very reasonable estimate. And I would like to comment that you were the only moving service (and we had called at least 6 others) who took the time to come on site and review our site before estimating. That was a big plus for us, so thank you.As well, your office staff were helpful and never impatient and your operations manager who called to confirm the move dates was very cooperative and understanding. Even your guys in the warehouse were friendly...and that is a bit unusual, in my experience.The movers were absolutely excellent:when they packed our condo, they were extremely careful and took the necessary time to pack properly. They didn't rush" but were very efficient.they met your schedule and called us the day before to confirm timing...and then showed up on timethey were as careful unpacking as packing and made sure to place items where we directedthere was not a scratch or any damage whatsoever on our furnitireRick

Adam and Tristen were amazing in delivering the unbelievable amount of stuff In storage from when my family lived here 17 years ago. Adam was able to provide me with advice and guidance as we unloaded a semi truck worth of things that I had no idea how to contend with. He also went above and beyond in connecting me with someone to sell my mothers Harley. This is not to underplay the amazing job they did in unpacking and moving things in (everything was in good condition and handled with care). Plus they were both personable and offered some good laughs during a time that should have been overwhelmingly stressful. Thank you Adam and Tristen, I feel blessed to have had you support this process.

I was moving from Alberta to Ontario. I am very pleased with the service I received from Kings transfer! They gave me the cheapest estimate, it was 1000$ less than other companies. The billing price reflected the estimate as well. Their service was high quality! I've dealt with a few local moving companies in my life, but these movers were highly professional! They dismantled the furniture so that no damage would be done, and they put everything back together in my new place. They loaded everything and everything was completed in less than an hour for loading, I was impressed by how efficient they were! They transferred my things in a sealed vault that wouldn't be open until delivery in Ontario, therefore I knew my things were safe. Upon delivery, I received all of my things back and nothing was damaged, I was very pleased! Reasonable price, on time, they also tag every box and furniture so we know nothing is missing. Very professional, I highly recommend this company for moving across provinces!!
