Invisible Tuckpointing

We have a 100+ year old Victorian house that had areas of crumbling original brick on the sides. The bricks needed to be replaced, and I was concerned about matching the brick to a heritage house, so when meeting with Mario that was my #1 request.He did an absolutely amazing job - we were so impressed. Not only did he match the bricks and mortar perfectly (it really is invisible), but he was a pleasure to work with. He is very knowledgable and considerate, and went above and beyond, repairing areas of brick that I hadn’t noticed were cracked or warn. He was really respectful of the space, and kept the deck and surrounding work area totally organized and clean. I have recommended his work before and just wanted to write a review (first ever google review.) I now have a greater appreciation for the art of brick work and masonry thanks to Mario!

It was a pleasure working with Mario and Sandy. They are professionals as well as artisans who pay close attention to client needs and concerns. I especially appreciated the time Mario took to help me understand the various steps in the process and he willingly answered all my questions. Mario and Sandy are exceptional at their work and take care and pride in their craft in a way that is unfortunately rare. They work from a passion for restoring older homes and have an incredible skillset for colour-matching, texture, and structure that took much of the deteriorating or damaged masonry on our house and made it look unblemished. In addition, they completed all of the work that they said they would, at the time they said they would do it, without incurring any additional costs, and communicated transparently with us throughout. You can likely find quicker/cheaper/adequate" masons elsewhere

We couldn't be happier with the quality of the work done by Mario and Sandy. They are more than masons - they are artists. It is virtually impossible to see any transition from old to new mortar. Mario takes the time to color match the mortar and the results are simply astounding.Our house is in Toronto, but my family and I have been self-isolating in Kingston due to the COVID-19 pandemic for the better part of 3 months now. I entrusted Mario to get the job done right and actually left him with my house keys so that he could use our bathroom when needed. In turn, Mario went above and beyond what we were expecting. We were getting our roof re-shingled at the same time. Mario cleaned out our AC unit, windows, and other areas, while also removing oil stains left on our driveway from the roofers. That's the type of guy he is - he goes above and beyond in his drive to provide an excellent service.I have attached a couple of pictures from the job. The first picture (Mortar Comparison) illustrates new and old mortar. The vertical mortar joint on the left is new and the one on the right is the original. You can't even see the difference! Mario's communication was excellent. He committed to a starting date and stuck to it. Was in touch a week before to confirm, and gave constant updates via text or email while on the job site when we weren't there during the day.Mario was very patient working with us to ensure exact colour matches of brick and mortar, mixing six or more different batches until we together found the ideal combination.If you didn't know which areas were repaired you would have no idea by looking at it now, which is really the ultimate endorsement of the work.

Mario this past season completed two projects for me one very extensive historical brick restoration and repair work his ability to fix and colour match brick was amazing.
