Value Village

Over priced many items. Walker selling more than regular price. Last month friend of mine bought same for his mom about $150. In here asking $199. This box looks like wood but not real wood. And asking price is $599. Ha ha can't be true right! But sadly it is. I don't know how to react. And worth to let you guys know.

Prices have increased to the point that you might as well just buy new - or eBay. It used to be a no-brainer to buy anything you found there as it was always a bargain. Now I usually just put it back down and think - do I really need this for that price. I don’t even bother going in any more.

Value Village shopping is important to me as a thrifty person on a small budget and for environmental reasons. This is my usual store location in which to shop. Lots of parking. Good-sized store, clean, and well-stocked with a wide variety of merchandise.There have been absolute treasures that I have found while shopping in this store, e.g. designer labels with comparatively low prices to buy here. Some items aren't worth buying, in my opinion anyway. The prices of everything aren't really as low as what I would prefer and I've wondered if they were the same prices as for the items originally purchased elsewhere when new. Some of the clothing look brand new and never worn so could possibly be close-outs from other stores that went out of business. Who knows the source of the items on sale at any Value Village store? It doesn't matter to me so long as I can enjoy my shopping and get good items to buy which usually happens. It is rare that I have not bought anything when shopping here and at other Value Village stores.I am not happy with the self-checkouts. To take advantage of a staff member to pay for my purchases at a regular checkout, the customer is only allowed to pay in cash, not by debit or credit card. That's a strange, inconvenient rule and doesn't happen at Walmart's self checkouts. You can pay by these cards at the self-checkouts at Value Village.Why did Value Village stop offering their 50% off days to preferred customers" the first day and then to the general public the second day? I loved those special events and shopped every time.Why have the fitting rooms been closed permanently? It is a nuisance to buy an item

I used to love shopping at this location because you can find lots of hidden gems.Sadly, the management of Value Village do not have HR professionals working on-site (not uncommon in retail to have all of that automated). As such, management just made a grave mistake which consists of harassment based on discrimination, as well as wrongful termination which will now lead to a complaint to the Ontario Labour Board.Good luck.

Visiting this location is always like going on a treasure hunt! Over the years I've found amazing buys at amazing prices. I love how they offer a large selection of items and do an outstanding job keeping the store clean and organized.

Value Village is an absolute gem of a thrift store, and can't praise it enough. As a seasoned thrifter, I've explored countless second-hand stores, but Value Village stands out as a true haven for both bargain hunters and those looking to make sustainable shopping choices.

Gabe is wonderful. Really good and very patient with customers. I took off 1 star because the prices here are quite high for second hand clothing.
