We first met Karen and Jesse via FaceTime as we were planning our wedding long-distance. From our first call with them, we felt at ease and sensed that they would bring a calm, warm presence to our wedding day. When we all met in person (including our photographers), it felt like a group of friends hanging out together; we were impressed by how easily they blended with our photographers and how they were thoughtful in planning who would take the lead throughout the day so that they could be mindful of each other’s work. This forecasted the phenomenal feat Karen and Jesse did of somehow capturing a thousand tiny moments, but without us ever feeling like we were being filmed.Karen and Jesse were so supportive and kind the day of, which did wonders to help us truly immerse ourselves in enjoying our day. We never felt rushed; rather, it felt like they were another pair of guests, there to enjoy the day with us.Afterward, we felt that Karen’s care to ensure that we had a video we would love and cherish forever went beyond just good professionalism. She was thorough, thoughtful, and kind in our correspondence after the wedding. It’s apparent that Karen and Jesse put their heart into their films. Our video shines with the beauty of the scenery, the feelings we experienced, and the words of dear friends cut together artistically and beautifully. To be able to relive that day and feel that joy is a gift for which we are so thankful. We can’t wait to make watching it an annual anniversary tradition.

My husband and I met Karen and Jesse of Painted Sky Films in a fortuitous manner, and were thrilled to have them travel to Iceland to film our adventurous wedding. They created the most incredible wedding film, all thanks to their creativity as storytellers and their eye for detail. I am in tears every time I watch the video and relive the magic of the day.I think it comes down to Karen's and Jesse's ability to capture so many little moments and interactions throughout the day and string those moments together so beautifully. It's a HUGE testament to their talent: we barely noticed them filming, yet they created a film that is so intimate, so personal, so US. My husband and I were married in Victoria in July 2019. Our experiences with Painted Sky Films exceeded all expectations! We are based in Montreal and had to select our choice of videographer through online searches and then Skype interviews. From our very first meeting, we had an extremely good impression of Karen and Jesse. They are an amazing couple, very professional but at the same time, so warm and friendly. They put us at ease from the start and we immediately felt confident that they would be a good fit for us. Leading up to the wedding, all communications were handled remotely via email. They were consistently fast to respond to any questions we had; there was never a wait of more than 1-2 days, even when the wedding season started to pick up at the beginning of the summer.When the wedding day finally came, we truly knew that we had made the right choice with our wedding videographers. Karen and Jesse were so much fun to work with!! They both have a fantastic sense of humour and we shared many, many laughs through the day with them, which contributed to the beauty and happiness of this special moment in our lives! Their creativity was apparent as they asked my husband and I to pose for certain shots using wind and lighting. Through the 8 hours of time they spent with us and our guests, we often didn't even realize they were around as they were so discrete with their film captures.We couldn't wait to see the finished product and were thrilled when they delivered the videos to us ahead of schedule! We had ordered a first dance edit, which was pure magic, with beautiful camera angles and lighting. The highlight film completely blew us away!! We could not have imagined a better or more perfect video! Jesse and Karen managed to capture extremely emotional moments and weaved them into a beautiful story which naturally unfolded through the film. It felt like watching a Hollywood movie clip with an introduction, middle and stunning finish! The background music was also a perfect match with the film. My husband and I have both cried with happiness every time we have viewed the film and neither of us are overly emotional people. Even my dad shed some tears watching the video and I have only seen him cry once before during my life (and that was during the actual wedding day!). We will treasure the videos forever and cannot recommend Painted Sky Films highly enough. They were an absolute pleasure to work with from beginning to end and are so incredibly talented at what they do!! A huge thank you to Karen and Jesse for giving us such a breath-taking souvenir of what turned out to be the happiest day of our lives!!!

We are so happy that Karen and Jesse were able to capture our elopement on Vancouver Island. We look back on our highlight video frequently and every time we do, we’re blown away by the magic they created. Every little detail of our elopement was so beautifully documented…being able to hear our vows and the emotion in our voices, the waves crashing, the ginormous trees, the fairy-tale sunset, it was all summed up so perfectly. We were worried that we would be so awkward and unnatural, but Karen and Jesse made us feel so at ease and kept us laughing and smiling the whole time. We are so so so happy we found them. If you are on the fence about getting a videographer, DO IT, best decision we ever made.

Magic.It’s the only word to describe it, because I was speechless when they first delivered the videos, and I’m still speechless now. Scott and I eloped in Iceland in 2019, and our day was full of fun, happiness, adventure, and most of all love - feelings that Karen and Jesse captured and gave back for us to relive through our wedding videos. It still brings a tear to my eye.Every interaction with them was easy, from the first video call, every email, working with them on the day, and every interaction afterwards. Our wedding day was small and intimate, with just the two of us there with the team who pulled the day together for us, and Karen and Jesse slipped into that team with ease. It didn’t feel like working with two strangers from across the globe, it felt like having two friends there to celebrate our love with us. They followed us on every crazy adventure we went on that day, and wrapped it up into a beautiful piece of videography that never fails to make friends and family gush.It is clear through their work that Karen and Jesse set a high standard, but also that they truly love what they do. The attention to detail, and the care that goes into putting it all together, is evident in every shot and every transition. We used the teaser video to announce our marriage to our families, and Karen and Jesse went above and beyond to make sure that it was perfect and ready for when we arrived home. Wow, where do I begin?Karen and Jesse were our wedding videographers for our wedding in July 2019. From the very first Facetime meeting, I instantly knew they were the right choice. They are very professional, responsive, and are genuinely interested in your love story. They clearly love what they do!I loved that they sent us a questionnaire asking about little details about our wedding that were important to us, and the background of our love story. They captured everything I wanted on our wedding film. When we received our film, I had to get the tissue box it was so beautiful. It still makes me cry every time I watch it. Our friends and family told us it felt like a movie, and the amount of compliments we received were endless.
