Ocular Health Centre

Haven't got there yet, had 3 appointments canceled and rebooted. OK. But then my referring optical clinic gets a written notice that I didn't appear for any booked appointments the ones they canceled. So tne referring Dr is angry at me but my ACTUAL appointment is 3 weeks away if not canceled. So do they bill OhIP since they don't seem to know they canceled the appoinments? And no on will answer phones.

This office which includes Doctor Richard Weinstein never answers their phone. They have no email. No other means with which to contact them. This office fails completely and utterly at providing follow up treatment to it's patients as patients are unable to even contact the office to setup an appointment. Incompetent would be too kind! The Doctor himself is great, extremely knowledgeable.

I was fortunate to be cared for by Dr Chan and his staff. They are all very kind and efficient. He runs a very busy practice but still is able to run pretty much on schedule. My cataract surgery went extremely well and I no longer need contacts, what a game changer!! Thanks to all of you for working so hard during the pandemic

I had an amazing experience at Ocular Health Centre! The staff was friendly and helpful, and the doctor was knowledgeable and patient. They took their time to answer all of my questions and made sure I understood everything. The facility was clean and modern, and I felt very comfortable during my visit. I highly recommend this office to anyone in need of eye care!

Dr Chan is amazing. When is the last time anyone had a doctor call them ar home on a weekend?Dr. Chan took time to call me 2 weeends in a row to make sure everything was allright after glaucoma surgery. I am extremely impressed.

My experience here was utterly disappointing from start to bottom.My doctor recommended me this clinic because it was the closest to my area. I was promised an appointment with doctor jaspreet Rayat but as I arrived and met my doctor it wasn’t even him. No big deal any doctor would of been fine. See In the past I was told my numerous eye doctors that I have cataract in my eye. But due to the situation it’s in surgery was not advised. This I already know. However I came in because recently a floater has appeared in my left eye and was bothering me. I met a young white male doctor who upon first meeting already had a rather pretentious attitude. He told me that I was severely near sighted in one eye and that their was nothing else. First of all I’m not near sighted I have cataract. Second of all I told him about the floater and he shined a few lights into my eye and I quote he said “ yea I see a floater.”I was kinda stumped. The doctor didn’t seem to care or have any attitude of care towards me. However I took his word and shrugged the floater thing off. I went on to ask him about being teary when I’m outside. Since in the past my eye doctor prescribed eye drops for me to help with me getting teary when outside. My past doctor told me it was due to blockage of the tear ducts. And that eydrops he prescribed can help. I however ran out a long time ago and asked this doctor the same thing. And I QUOTE he says “ just don’t go outside.”I was shocked and repulsed by his reply how EXTREMELY unprofessional. I left without another word. I will not be coming back here.

Over the past 5 years and several surgeries our experience with Dr. Chan has been first-rate, as he has dealt with complex issues with exemplary attention, skill, and compassion. He’s a highly skilled surgeon, is candid and answers all question, explains fully and instills confidence. His focus is very clearly on the well-being of his patient, as he has shown such dedication and has gone above and beyond to closely monitor issues and resolve problems. Our family is so very grateful for his outstanding care, attention, and skill. Also his office staff are helpful, friendly, and efficient.

I have been bringing my mom to see Dr. Chan for a few times. Just like our Optometrist Dr. Brian Flatt said Dr. Chan is the best Ophthalmologist in our region, yes he is the best! He is highly skilled and efficient. I can image it is big pressure for him to see so many patients every day. This morning my mon did IOL, visual field, OCT etc exams and Dr. Chan did exams on her eyes as well all in fast and smooth procedures. His staffs are friendly and helpful as well!

Super ridiculous wait time! Like why do you make an appointment to then wait over an hour to get in? I also had an appointment over the holidays and they called me the morning of and cancelled saying the doctor is not coming in this week. That is NOT 24 hours notice. They charge YOU $120 for less than 24 hours notice for cancellation. Super disorganized and unprofessional. Still waiting for my appointment as I write this out.

I am writing this review on behalf of my mother Marie. She has been a highly satisfied patient of Dr. Toby Chan with multiple complex issues, all of which have been efficiently and successfully resolved. Dr. Chan and his staff are very compassionate, patient, and approachable, instilling confidence throughout the course of my mother's treatment. Therefore, I highly recommend Dr. Chan and the Ocular Health Centre.
