Amato Gelato 17th Avenue

First of all, I would like to say that this is a beautiful place! The atmosphere is open, clean, and inviting. I could stay here for hours on end, and enjoy myself. I love their hanging plants and Italian decor. The whole thing is modern, but still has that authentic feel.The food and drinks are lovely. I had a tea with a biscotti. The flavours played very well with each other. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented.Sadly, this is where the good ends. The gentlemen working here were not very friendly. In fact, I found them dismissive and resentful that I was there. I was looking at all the food, and had questions. But they didn’t approach me, ask me how I was doing, or if I had questions.It was more like, “ what do you want?”And they still told me to wait. I waited for 10 minutes to get served. When I was walking along the trying to decide if I want some gelato. I still felt the young man’s icy demeanour. He didn’t offer me a sample or ask if I had any questions..In the future, I recommend that these employees work on their customer, service and people skills. We, the customers want to feel welcome.

Beautiful place, good service and lot of options. Perfect to get ice cream for kids and coffee for parents!

Such a beautiful place serving amazing beverages and food ...Loved the Hazelnut Latte and the biscotti it was served with.. The staff is very passionate about their work and make you feel welcome!! Loved the ambience and the whole vibe of it...

We went for gelato, we had the spumoni and pistachio and both were lovely. On a whim we decided to try the Olive All'ascolana, deep fried stuffed olives. DELICIOUS! So glad we walked a little out of our way to try Amato!

Best Gelato I've had here in Calgary. The hot chocolate float topped with double chocolate fudge gelato was so rich and sweet. The cookies and cream flavor it fantastic as well.

The ice cream was ok. I tried the pistachio chocolate fudge. I would really like it if the ice cream was more frozen (it was on the soft side). Cashier and server were nice and cheerful. After you pay you can try some flavours before selecting your choice.

The cutest gelato shop I've been to. I came here last winter with some friends for the first time and the customer service was amazing. Recently, I came back to try the Durian gelato and it's magnificent! Highly reccommended!

The best coffee shop in town ! Love the food, cappuccino is rich and creamy! Delicious menu! Staff are extremely friendly and helpful! Good place to meet for coffee.

This dessert pace is right around one of the corners of the bustling 17th ave. The price range is decent, ranging from 6-15. We got the Tiramisu , waffle cone ice cream and the raspberry cake. Out of all these the Tiramisu was the only one which was bang on. The decor is nice though and they have a patio if you wanna enjoy the Calgary summer.

We ordered cocktails and batista took atmost care to make them....cocktails come with complimentary charcuterie board which was great...hospitality was top notch..We tried couple of deserts and all were excellent...italian chocolate flavor in all desert was outstanding..Overall this will be our first pick for deserts whenever we visit Calgary..
