Colonial Hotel in Grand Bend

We booked our stay at the Colonial for a hockey tournament our children were attending in a nearby town. The stay here absolutely exceeded our expectations! The staff were not only friendly but extremely accommodating to the children and parents throughout the entire evening! They let us have a social in their lobby while the children played! The rooms were spotless and very nicely updated! They even made the girls little gift bags with snacks for the morning before we left for our first game. We will definitely be back to stay. The location is a prime spot for those looking to enjoy the main strip in Grand Bend and the experience was the best I have had at any hotel.

Honestly, this hotel might be the best hotel that we’ve ever stayed in the GTA. The room space is so huge, and super clean. Bathroom also has a comfortable space. The hotel location is close to every view spots, famous restaurants, and even groceries. This is the 1st time that we thought staying in this hotel was the best choice that we did. Excellent.

I stayed here 2 nights and was very impressed. My room was modern and clean. The mattress was the best I've ever slept on in my life. Dealt with a handful of different staff members, all helpful and pleasant. No complaints at all.

Although the staff were friendly and helpful this place is not worth the money. We found it disappointing that there wasn't a coffee marker in the bedroom especially since it wasn't a cheap stay.The room we were in was by the stair well and everytime the door opened you could hear it slam shut. No insulation at all meaning you could hear noise in the hallway throughout the night. Ended up switching rooms in the middle of the night due to the noise. The bed in the second room was so hard that we did not sleep at all.Neither of the rooms had been properly clean with dry wall dust and dead bugs in both rooms.Would not recommend it.

Beautifully renovated property. The only negative for us was the supremely firm mattress. Otherwise, this spot is highly recommended. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The courtyard with fire pits was a great bonus...we were even offered marshmallows to roast. Well done to everyone there!

We had an amazing time. The hotel is beautiful and in such a great location! The staff is amazing, especially Deborah. She goes above and beyond for her guests and is so kind. They can set up a fire for you outside with music and marshmellows to roast. The lobby is gorgeous and the rooms are amazing. Definitely staying again!

We redo our honeymoon because both got extremely sick in Costa Rica. We love come grand bend every summer. We book a winter getaway package! Wow, was I impressed is the statement! Debra and Jean attention is beyond 5 star experience both these ladies deserve huge raise! They ensure correct wine in our room, booked our dinner, reservation, created our camp fire with bring us marshmallows. And gave tour of all accessible suite for research for my job. The amount research I do for my clients. To for once have service provided for me and my husband was incredible! We so impressed that before even going sleep book another getaway trip for husband birthday in Sept! I can't wait return. The rooms are big and modern design. The pictures of of local photography! As Huron County girl I am beyond proud recommend this everyone I know! The location fantastic walkable everything and with parking include that saves a lot money and hassle trying find parking spot in the summer! Only two tiny details were missed boot trays in the room I would not walk about my house salty wet boots why would I do it on my home away from home! And if you offer tea with coffee bar you have be sold for life! Can't wait come back Sept 2023!

I can't say enough about the customer service and kindness we received from Deborah. She was so accommodating and helpful. The rooms were super clean and very up to date. Deb went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. I recommend this Hotel. Dealing with Deb put our mind at ease and allowed us to have a peaceful stat.

My husband and I spend our anniversary weekend every year in Grand bend and we have been staying at the Colonial our last 3 visits. This hotel never disappoints! The rooms have all recently been renovated and are so modern and spacious! The staff especially Wayne always goes out of their way to ensure that we are fully satisfied with our stay. The location is amazing! We will be back again soon!!!

We recently stayed for a hockey tournament and I was a bit skeptical before getting there knowing it was previously the old bar. But upon getting there, I was immediately impressed by the courtyard and lobby. The staff at front was super friendly and accommodating and offered us a room closer to our group, but let us see both, and take our pick. We liked both, and chose a room. Throughout the stay, the staff were extremely friendly and got our girls marshmallows for fire and offered us the lobby area to have them together to eat. We left in morning and there was a small bag for them with banana, granola bar, etc. I never would have considered Grand Bend in the winter, but would consider going back to visit soon just based on this experience alone.
