This company was great at taking my parents money 3 years ago and now my dad has passed away. Still isn't resolved and they do not even have the decency to return phone messages or emails that have been multiple. All I was asking for was an update of any information. Meanwhile my mother has to continue to pay for maintenance fees on a time share she can't use because it is locked up with secondary ownership

In April 2017 my husband and I paid Secondary Ownership Group (Secondary) $676.87 to advertise the sale of our Carriage Hills Resort timeshare unit on their website. There were crucial times when we phoned leaving messages and e-mailed Secondary, but they did not return our calls or responded to the e-mails. However, in October 2017 we paid another fee of $3,220.50, receiving a receipt for such amount, to take advantage of their deed back program to exit our timeshare. The program was guaranteed 100% exit. Secondary referred us to an American company; Standard Timeshare Transfers (Standard) {SumDay Vacations} to do the actual exit of which they say would take approximately 3 – 6 months.In January 2018 when we received the papers from Standard to be filled in, we phoned Secondary asking them for assistance. At that time we were told that they were busy, but they will return our call later in the day. They did not return the call until weeks later. In the meanwhile wanting to get the deed back program started, we contacted Standard ourselves who aided us with filling the forms. We then paid $108.48 for notarization of the forms mailing them by certified mail costing $26.70 including a payment of $3,300.00 U.S. In July, we received a letter from Standard informing us the exit was unsuccessful as they have tried every resource possible. We were fully reimbursed by SumDay.Spoke to Secondary about the failed exit, we were told ours was the first as many others were successful. They offered another possibility, a Canadian company that is “cheaper” (Cyria Group) asking us to pay $3,370.24, we were again assured 100% guaranteed exit but this process will take 6 – 12 months. We declined this possibility as we do not want to be waiting that time period, and it may not be again successful. We asked for a refund of the $3,220.50, but Secondary refuses claiming that they have fulfilled “their part” by offering us another deed back program.We reminded Secondary to relist our sale ad on their website because they had taken it off due to the deed back timeshare program. Being clients of theirs, we requested a breakdown-listing of expenditure statement (see table below) of the fee for the deed back program. we paid $900.00 in 2018 for you to sell our elkhorn at the lodges in canmore alberta. this fractional deed was paid for in 2006.included is 20000 points every other year and still waiting and praying to have it sold for $20000.00.

If I could give them a zero, I would. They had you pay an upfront fee to have them market your timeshare, filling your head with high valuations and promises that it would sell easily and quickly for top dollar. Once they had my money, they became difficult to reach and eventually stopped responding to any inquiries. The timeshare never sold. They are a prime example of why you might not want to pay someone an upfront fee to sell a timeshare!

I purchased my program in Florida back in 2009 for my family. While it was great when the kids were small, as they got older they felt less inclined to go once they were grownI had tried to pass it on through the family, but to no avail they weren't really interested so I sought out a means to sell it.Which is when I found Secondary Ownership Group through an Internet search. I filled out their contact form online and was promptly contacted by a lovely sounding lady by the name of Veronica.She proceeded to go through the ins and outs of of selling my Florida timeshare on the resale market. It took a few months to sell it, but I was updated on the progress whenever I requested (I can be pretty pushy at times! Lol).I even called at one point to update them, of a phone number change as I figured it was the smart thing to do since they were selling a piece I had invested in.After a few months, my timeshare was finally sold and I am grateful that I no longer have to worry about the Maintenance Fees anymore.To the induvidual who made the purchase: I hope you get as much enjoyment out of the place as my family and I did.
