Aspira Island Park Retirement Living

I moved my Mother into Island Park 11 months ago from her home that she had lived in for 56 years. I knew it would be a tough move for her but after having a tour and meeting Cindy and some other staff members, I just knew we were making the right decision.The staff are amazing and so very thoughtful and helpful. The view from her river facing room is beautiful, boats in the summer and colourful trees in the fall. Lots of activities going on all the time with Krista and Alexis, who love the residents!With the new addition completed and enhanced facilities things can only get better!

Our Dad, originally from Campbellford, returned home after being away for nearly fifty years and moved into Island Park. At ninety-one, he's renewing old friendships, making new acquaintances and generally enjoying life in his new home far more than we ever expected. Social activities offer as much or as little as residents desire. Dad even tried haggis for the first time on Robbie Burns Day - and enjoyed it. The move has been positive not only for him but for my brother and I as we know he's been cared for by exceptionally qualified and attentive staff, many of whom are related to people he knows in the area. I hope I find myself in such a wonderful environment when I'm in my nineties.

We moved my in laws into Island Park in December 2018, from Bowmanville. It was the best move they could have ever made! From our initial meeting with Cindy, to the day they moved in, the whole experience was incredible. The apartments, the food, the staff, the grounds are all exceptional. While located in the picturesque town of Campbellford, the guests are from all over Ontario, and in fact, the country! You won't be disappointed with your move to Island Park!!

My husband and I have had several years now within the Retirement Home environments with our Mothers. Hands down Island Park in Campbellford is BY FAR above any previous experiences. Both of our mothers are happy and content under the circumstances of social distancing, periods of isolation etc. The staff has always attended to them and spent more than a passing moment with them. Both ladies have had no complaints about the food (and my Mother is hard to please at times).There is a great team there and I am so thankful to have them in our lives and appreciate everything they do. Never do my husband or I worry about our Mothers. We know they are well taken care of should they need any assistance.

Mum moved in here 5 weeks ago. What a wonderful facility! She and we are thrilled with everything about Island Park - the staff are beyond terrific, the building is beautiful inside and out, the food is fabulous. The extra services are perfect for an almost 93 year old with the beginnings of dementia. Mum absolutely loves her new home and we are overjoyed that she is safe and very, very happy. They were the best twilight years anyone could ever dream of. We are sorry that he cannot stay. When researching Retirement Homes prior to moving here, Island Park had the best reputation bar none. The best thing is the Staff, without question everyone of them are fantastic, they have the Residents needs and wants in mind at all times, their care and concern makes the Residents feel happy to be residing here. No request is impossible for them to attend to. The Staff can make or break any organization and the Staff at Island Park are beyond the best!Of courses the Apartments, Food and Amenities are all very importantand they in themselves, are first class. The location on the Trent Canal is beautiful, one couldn't ask for more. This is the best move we've ever made and we highly recommend Island Park as your" Retirement Residence.Sincerely

Would not accept my 81 year old mother so beware .... they don’t want anyone who has cognitive issues !!! Although my mom has minimal memory issues still won’t take her . My mom is needs a place to live for the winter ... as she has been totally independent , living alone for 20 yrs !!!! But island park will not accept her. I was under the impression that ALL elderly would be welcome Here ...as it is an independent living situation with additional medical and personal help if needed. Which is NOT the case here . Really disappointed with the assessment with patty . All other staff were kind helpful and made mom feel like she was cared about ! Janice was amazing and am saddened we couldn’t get mom in to a safe environment. My mother will continue to live alone I guess .

Hello, after some time at Island Park, my Mother and many of her fellow retirees, have noticed quite a drop in the quality of the Food being served for all day meals. The issue has been on going for several Months, and Management is also aware of this situation. Cold food, uncooked food , overcooked and running out of Menu items. Nothing has been done about this for several months. The point of this review is to get Management to do Something !!

Island Park Retirement Residence in Campbellford Ontario has been home for my parents for over 3 years. When it became obvious that my parents needed more care we were blessed that a suite opened just in time. Cindy McMurray worked her magic and they were home! I truly can’t say enough about the exceptional staff, each and everyone of them! The suites are private and beautiful! My parents have enjoyed the meals and all the varied activities . As my parents needed more care it was right there. My Dad recently moved to long term care and the staff has taken extra care of my Mom to make sure she is okay. Of course I have to mention the outstanding care provided during the ongoing pandemic. They have been able to pivot on a daily or weekly basis to keep Island Park a safe and happy oasis for the residents.
