I called Jim Dickinson to check out my car as it was making some concerning noises. I don't normally go to this shop, it was recommended by my normal auto mechanic. I called on a Friday and he was able to take me on the Monday. This was great as I was expecting to have to wait a while due to the time of year.I informed Jim I had a leaky shock. He confirmed this but stated that it was just starting to go and that there was no need to replace it right away as it still passed the bounce" test. He did inform me that I needed to replace a ball joint. Quoted me $100-$200 for the part. No mention of labor costs.When I showed up to pick up my vehicle I had to wait 30-40min before I was even spoken to. I rang the doorbell twice. When he was finally able to help me

I had my tires switched to summer, got a spring checkup and learned one and eventually a second job will need to be done. Jim Dickinson is on top of what my car needed (spring checkup) and the future aforementioned needs. He knows my car and it’s nice to know in advance what I’m up against.

They were great to get me in. Greatly appreciate that. I suggested an issue that I thought was a problem to which I was told I’m just a “worry wart”. They fixed what they thought was the issue and had to buy tires to boot. Left there with the same issue. Consulted my localMechanic and turns out it was what I originally thought. Won’t be going back just because it felt like I was made to feel like I don’t know anything.Side note, the did fix a battery issue but told them I was certain there was a ball joint or strut/bearing issue which was then told I was a worry wart.The work they did for bushings and battery cables was fine but didn’t look into one of the main issues which was found very quickly by another mechanic.

Jim is a great mechanic. I and my family have been taking our vehicles to him for 20 years +. You can rely upon what he says, and does.

As always, Jim Dickinson gives very reliable service and offers full service for your car. He explains any work that needs to be done on your car. If something doesn't need to be done right away he will give you that option. I've always found him to be honest and fair. I've taken my cars to him for over 15 years and I recommend him highly. Be warned - he's always fully booked up but still does his best for his customers.

Jim and his staff are very knowledgeable. They have been servicing my 2009 Hyundai for the last 3 years. Jim tries to minimize cost and differentiates for you what needs to be done now from what can wait. To balance my review a bit, sometimes you need to wait for your turn...but that is indeed a good sign!

I strongly recommend Jim's shop for car work! I gave him a call for a last minute fix on a short timeline after experiencing issues with my brakes. He fit me into his busy schedule and was able to repair the brake issue before the end of the day! His shop normally closes at 5PM but he was more than willing to stay open for me to pick up and walked me through all the work that he did on the vehicle, the pricing for the work, as well as future things to look out for.100% best mechanic I have ever worked with, and would bring my car back here in the future without hesitation. Jim was straightforward and easy to deal with. Prices were fair and I was charged what I was promised. Quality work done quickly. Basically everything you could hope for, short of not needing car repairs in the first place. Absolutely recommend.

Jim and the other mechanics are amazing! I went in for a safety inspection and also had an oil leak repaired and my car feels and sounds brand new. Very professional, knowledgeable and great prices! Couldn’t be happier.

Found Jim’s shop online, and decided to go with him to get my Safety Inspection. I called in advance to book. He asked me for more information about the vehicle and my name.When I came in, he had everything jotted down, and perfectly organized on paper — which I greatly appreciated.Wait time was long, which I was expecting. No different than a Canadian Tire.Turned out that my car needed repairs. However, Jim was quick to point out why, and also showed me pictures of the fixes that needed to be done.I agreed, and he was quick to get the breaks and rusty rotors fixed up.Honestly, a very pleasant, kind, and professional mechanic.
