Portici
Portici was ok, nothing outstanding but also not bad. Got the eggplant walnut dip (good amount, standard taste), pinsa contadina (liked how it had a smokiness to it but would have liked more toppings since the bread part was overpowering) and seafood lasagna (super cheesy so yum, but would have liked more seafood).Great patio. Service was friendly and efficient. Prices were good, especially for the Yorkville area.

4.1/5Great find in Yorkville! We walked in on a Sunday afternoon. It’s a calm and inviting cafe style restaurant. The server was pleasant and helpful. We tried the Stuffed Mushrooms, the Pinsa Casa Mia and Pinsa Yorkville. The Pinsa Yorkville was my favourite. The dough was baked nicely, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The prosciutto, arugula, burrata and pistachio were harmonious in flavour and texture. It was a very simple pinsa with few ingredients, but sometimes less is more. We were quite satisfied. We’ve tried the pizza at Eataly down the street but haven’t been impressed. If you’re in the area and need a bite, I’d recommend stopping here!

The atmosphere is great, and the food is even better. We ordered Lasagna and it was flavourful. Pinsa lover which was kind of meat-lover pizza was delicious as well. Stuffed Mushrooms were also a great dish to start with.We will definitely come back to try more from their menu.

This place was amazing! Food, taste really good. Bruschetta and spaghetti is what I ordered, and they are both tasty! Was really satisfied. Customer service, they step up above than normal. They open the door for customers that are going in the restaurant, welcoming them. That’s already a plus on it’s own. Well done.Emil was our server and wow, great attitude and great smile! Very personable. Keep up the great atmosphere! Very satisfied.

I have never written a negative review but feel obligated to, for this particular restaurant. The food is very amateur, not nearly up to par with the standard expected for this district. The balsamic vinegar tasted like maple syrup gone off.Worse yet, the service (or lack there of). My daughter found the Bolognese sauce spicy and rather than attempt to resolve, the staff rolled their eyes and said no.We were never checked in upon again.Friends and family must be inflating the reviews here.Caution to those not yet aware.

Disappointing indeed. We like to support the independent restaurants, but unfortunately they are not up to scratch. We had a two course rushed meal, in and out in 45 minutes, not much of a date night. We ordered drinks and appetizers, that was quick which was great. The server asked us a number of times if we were ready to order main course which we did but didn’t order wine right away. We were still chewing our last bite of the appetizers and the plates were removed and main course put down right away. No asking what wine we would like, no replacement cutlery or a spoon with the spaghetti, no offering of pepper, no asking how our meal was! The flavours of the main courses were bland and disappointing. Had one piece of old stale baguette with the food, had to be at least a day old. Asked if we wanted desert, which at this point we didn’t, offered the bill right away. The owner asked how the meal was, we said it was disappointing and she just said ok and walked away, didn’t want to hear anything more.Gave 2 stars because it was at least very clean. Not going to go back here again.
