Boxgrove Off-Leash Dog Park

Terrible experience at this dog park that left my dog scared and getting trampled on by other dogs while their owners sat there and did nothing. Our girl (45lbs goldendoodle) is very friendly and loves to play but within minutes we had to leave as there was a large dog (lab mix perhaps 80lbs) constantly jumping on our dog and pinned her down trying to bite her neck and barking. My dog had her tail between her legs the whole time and eventually barked, which she never does! The owner was useless and had no control over his dog while we tried to get our dog to leave. Even as we were leaving the large dog was blocking the door and trying to jump at us and our dog again, snarling and barking.There was also numerous young children (8-10yrs) playing in the dog park trying to chase and pet the dogs and could have seriously gotten hurt and did not look like there was any parental supervision.Will not go back to this park nor recommend anyone go there. Dog parks get a bad rap because of certain owners that have no control over their aggressive playing dogs and this is another fine example of that.

Terrible idea by the city to use mulch for a dog park. My dog's paws got all scratched up and he left limping and bleeding. They should have laid down real sod or fake grass. If you bring your dog, make sure they are wearing proper dog shoes or just avoid altogether.

Nice little dog park, located at the top of a hill so it has good drainage and doesn't get overly muddy. Can get quite windy, though. Lots of room for dogs to run about and it has several benches for people to sit on. Parking is available along Pagnello Court.

Its located at 6780 14th Ave, Markham, ON, L6B 1A8, next to Boxgrove Community Park. Just built in late 2021. It will appear" on google as an empty lot across the intersection from the Mandarin Copper Creek mall. But it's all fully built and can be found next to a new kids play area at Rouge Creek and Pagnello Ct. You drive up and park (for free) near the end of Pagnello street.This Boxgrove dog park is nice and enclosed with two gated areas and one area for connecting the two. Very nice off leash park! Great to get our furry baby for a lovely afternoon walk when the weather is good. It doesn't have shade, so remember to bring lots of water for your dogs and when it's very hot and sunny, come to the park in the evening. There's also a big playground for kids to play. It only has street parking, so in a busy day, it might be difficult to find a space. Regardless, we will still bring our baby here again.
