House of Knives - Edmonton

Fantastic place. Unfortunately they were out of some knives I wanted to look at but the next time I come down here hopefully they’re in stock! I love seeing a knife and handling it in person before purchase.I’d like to make a very notable mention to Grey. He showed as much enthusiasm for knives as I do and he genuinely listened to everything I said. He talked with me, laughed with me and was open to take time with me to look at various things I was interested in even if I wasn’t going to purchase them that day. He’s an irreplaceable employee which made me want to buy a new knife I’ve always wanted and an attachment for my knife sharpener which I never knew about but he showed me a lot of awesome tricks.

I came to the store to take a look at some Chefs knives.Christopher was giving us excellent advice and explained the differences between all the options.He was very friendly and knowledgeable.Great customer service and great deals.Will be back!If you are looking for some quality knives go to house of knives and talk to Christopher.

This review is for the West Ed Mall location in Edmonton. 5 star servie for sure. When ever I go in there I am greated by the friendly staff. A couple of times I have talked to them about new releases and they have called me the day they are in.There selection is great and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new knife whether it is a pocket knife/hunting knife or a kitchen kinfe - they will hook you up and get you what you need

The manager here is awesome; she is kind, funny, and really upbeat. The items this store carries are both very interesting and very professional cooking wear. There is a lot of useful items too, things you forget you need until you see them.

Terrible customer service. return the knife for a exchange but the agent refused to exchange stating that the knife has been removed from the package while i was give a knife that was already open. return the knife within the limit with receipt but did not get a exchange

Went in to get a new set of knives and a chopping block. Was greeted by the manager, Darling - who was such a breath of fresh air! Gave us her personal recommendations as well as some comparable options based on price vs. quality! Super helpful and we ended up walking out with 4 knives, a chopping block and some extra little utensils. Price was good but the experience was the best! If you need knives or any other kitchen utensil… go see Darling at West Edmonton mall!

I'm just amazed at the range of this store. Very high-quality knives that just keep me in awe. A great place to buy a good set for yourself or even as a gift.

EDITED/UPDATED REVIEW:I have recently been to this store again and was met with rather rude behaviour from a staff member. I asked to see a knife she stated that it was a “girly” knife, which was just off putting the way her tone was as she seemed very bitter and snarky towards me. At this point I picked up on her attitude towards me and this is where she started to become more condescending. She began to explain knife basics to me although I didn’t ask I just wanted to look at the knife and am pretty knowledgeable in the field as is. I explained that I work in a similar industry and know quite a bit which all she said was “oh.” I asked to see another knife a little bit later and after seeing that one she showed me something similar which was nice however it was a little difficult to open (which I stated to her) and she scoffed and said it’s a button release which was obvious even before she handed it to me as I had already seen it in the case and am familiar with the brand but the button was stiff. The whole time I dealt with her she seemed to be indifferent, unfriendly and judgy towards me. Overall really unfriendly and based on her comments towards me/about me I will not be returning.(review one)Overall very friendly service, although the gentleman I was with was super friendly and nice I could say that he could work on recommendations a little better as what I was looking at were knives under $150 whereas he was showing me knives that were well over $200+ which I’ll admit were nice however not what I was wanting to spend. However the two ladies at the front were super kind and funny. Overall good service, I’ll definitely come back to visit. Just could use a little work on recommendations. The knife itself is absolutely stunning. I purchased a Boulder 2 from Black Tusk with 67 layer Demascus Clad Steel. As well they do offer free knife sharpening which is definitely a bonus.
