Mugi is my go-to spot for Thai food. Their rotating menu means there is always something new and delicious to try! I have celiac so it's wonderful to have a certified gluten-free restaurant that is safe and so so tasty.

MUST TRY! We ordered the Khao Soi ($15 with rice noodle) and the Tom Yum stir fry ($15 with sweet potato noodle) and both were packed with flavour and so delicious. They were both a bit spicy which we loved. It's definitely a hole in the wall and you might miss it if you're not actively looking for it - but you will not regret trying this place!! Sooo much tastier than the other overrated Thai places in Toronto

Visited this lovely restaurant for the first time yesterday and I must say I will definitely return. Mugi is a tiny space with big taste. We were lucky to find available seats. The staff were friendly and obviously busy with takeout orders but they were ready to take our dinner order as soon as we finished reviewing the menu. Such wonderful options for the Thai food lover! And safe for people with many different food restrictions. As a person with celiac disease, reading on their website that they're completely gluten-free is a real treat! I ordered the Green Curry which was incredibly flavourful, spiced perfectly... meaning hot! (And of the spicy menu items, apparently that's a mild one.) I will definitely return on a future trip to Toronto to try more from their menu, both non-spicy and maybe some even hotter options.

MUGI is a delightful pocket Vegan Thai restaurant on the SE corner of Bathurst and Bloor, staffed with a great dedicated team, with compact seating where I had their (pictured) delicious Khao Soy - Sweet potato noodle, tofu, shiitake mushroom, coconut milk, house-made Khao Soy curry paste, garnish: pickled cabbage, crispy onion, red onion, lime wedge, coriander. They are on their well deserved break until the beginning of February

So delicious and flavorful! I recommend the tom yum noodle and my mother got a curry. We loved that there are gluten free options and want to return to try more.

As a Thai food lover, but not a vegan, I was curious (and a bit skeptical) about plant-based Thai food. I was surprised, Mugi makes some of the tastiest Thai food I've had in a while. Bold flavours, and some Thai dishes you won't find at other restaurants. Seems like a labour of love.

Honestly Mugi is a place with a very specific identity & so some will very much enjoy it some will not.You cannot book a table in advance, and it has a lot of foot traffic meaning competition for the few larger tables for a party beyond 1-2 is fierce. You do not ask for water but serve yourself from a communal water station, which is certainly convenient but not for everyone. The business is mostly built around take out meaning food comes fast & hot which is a definite positive, but they also ask for your full order tip included at the beginning then ask if you're dining in or doing take out.All of this frankly would probably kill a place with a less defined niche, but Mugi does that one thing, vegan thai food very very well. The drunken noodles had plenty of onion without drowning out the spices, the cassava had a good springy texture, & the dumplings were the perfect temperature after dipping.I honestly think though take out is still ideal as the food definitely takes center stage & my sitting in didn't really add to the experience so much as detract from it.I'm not overly fussy but if I'm handed a fork & spoon then moments after party B is asked if they'd like chopsticks or a fork and spoon, that gives me pause. Not a bad place for flavorful food and the portions while not enormous are solid for the location, I would say give it a shot for takeout sometime with a smaller order before taking a plunge.

Ordered takeout via ubereats. I got the drunken fried rice ($15) and the turmeric tofu ($6).Fried rice was okay, small portion size and loads of veggies but it was kinda bland. Didn’t taste much of the drunken sauce flavour. Tofu was raw… 3/5Turmeric tofu was pretty bad. 1/5 literally raw tofu cubes in what tasted like turmeric mixed with water, threw it outOverall 3/5 healthy food but kinda bland at least for my tastes, keep in mind I’m south asian so I like my thai flavours stronger. Mugi just didn’t deliver.

Small eatery offering Thai vegan dishes. Loved the green curry and the drunken noodles! Would definitely recommend both those dishes. The dumplings weren’t as impressive as the main meals! Service is friendly and fast considering it was a team of two. There’s some indoor sitting but the restaurant is cosy so I would call in advance.

The food is pretty good. Small, focused menu. Very small restaurant that's busy with take out orders. All vegan. Khao soi is spicy, curry spring rolls are unique.
