half Old Growth Sugarbush and half 100 year old pine plantation these woods are an outdoor learning area for the University of Guelph. With Deer, coyotes, foxes, pileated woodpeckers and lots of other Southern Ontario Species this is a typical example of wooded areas in cities with young mature hardwood species. Bigger older hardwoods and more saturated canopy would be required before you'd expect to see old growth sugarbush species like cerulean warblers. Maybe in another few hundred years.
