Phoenix Taekwon-do Club

Phoenix has a wonderful way the kids, and really teaches a great attitude both about the sport, and respect in life. I have a very long relationship with this club (since 1993), and have always been impressed with the instruction and the culture. I recommend it to anyone. I have never encountered the kind of ego referenced in the comment below. Feel confident that you and your family are in great hands!

I have been training at phoenix for just under 3 years. The instructors are really professional and helpful. The head instructor had attended seminars and learned from the founder of taekwondo. He is always passing on his knowledge to the students.There are clubs in all of the surrounding areas of Edmonton which you can go and train at any location. The fees are very reasonable with a discounted rate for family.The locations of the main dojangs are in Beaumont, Devon, Stony Plain, St. Albert and Morinville. Phoenix also has after school program in some of the schools. In January 2016 a location will be opening up in Fort Saskatchewan that the head instructor Master Stanley and Mrs. Stanley will be running.

My 12 year old son does kickboxing twice a week and loves it! I like how there are lots of different times during the week he can go to accommodate his busy schedule

Been training 7 years (so far) and have enjoyed every minuet! They have amazing staff and make learning new things fun!They have younger classes (Shadow Warriors) as well! The staff is always ready to teach anyone, no matter what! And the students? They're always so eager to learn!

Phoenix Taekwon-do is a great place to learn a martial art while getting in shape and having fun. You can start at any age and fitness level; definitely something you can do with your kids or grandkids. The instructors are knowledgeable, and are friendly, encouraging and helpful. It has been challenging and rewarding to learn all of the different aspects (patterns, sparring, self-defense, correct technique, power, etc.) and to advance to higher belt levels. If you are looking for a martial arts school in a community near Edmonton, Phoenix Taekwon-do is a great choice.

I’ve been in and out of BJJ for years, trained at many different gyms in both Canada and Europe, and I can say that Joey is unequivocally the best instructor I’ve ever had. Phoenix is very lucky to have him teaching there starting this April. If you want to learn Jiu Jitsu in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, I would recommend Phoenix/Limitless. I’ve never felt more secure and comfortable than when taking one of his classes. Joey’s teaching style is very modern and great for both Jiu Jitsu hobbyists and competitors. He truly cares about his students and wants them to succeed in Jiu Jitsu, no matter what their goals are in the sport. The facility is also great, and everyone has been friendly.

It has been the best experience for my son who is in the shadow warriors group! The instructors are very personable and great with the kids! I would 100% recommend this company!

I put my 4 year old boy last year thinking this class would be more about having fun. But I found one instructor (Ms. Millen) was so rough on the kids. One time she called my boy to come in front and my boy was walking slowly (who knew you are supposed to run without being instructed) then suddenly she grabbed my boy's belt and pulled him very hard and it almost made my boy fall!!! She is either not a great instructor or simply not good enough to teach the little ones. Taekwondo is a martial art that emphasizes disciplining with good manners, not about being rough on others!

Both of my kids are here they love it. All instructors are amazing. My son is in the regular class and my daughter is in shadow warriors. It has only been one week but they have learnt so much. Very thankful.would highly recommend you try.

Phoenix Taekwon-Do is a fantastic place to learn discipline, self control, integrity and, of course, the ins and outs of the famous Korean martial art. The instructors are dedicated, the class sizes allow for a variety of drills and exercises and the quality of instruction is the best in Alberta, possibly in all of Canada. I am proud to be part of the Phoenix family.
