This is supposed to be a company that provides scooter service for those who have difficulty with mobility. They provided a scooter for my mom for a recent RC cruise. The scooter was so big that she could not use it on the cruise ship. She had to go the entire 12 days of the cruise without a scooter. When I made several calls to try & get a partial refund from the company, since the scooter was not usable for my mom, they refused. Essentially they said that my mom could have used it, that maybe it was not set up correctly. First, it was the company who should have set it up for a cruise ship. Secondly, if my mom could have used it, she would have. It was very difficult for her to go the entire length of the cruise without the scooter. I tried to point out that in their contract it states that if there is any issue with the rental, you are entitled to a partial refund. However, they kept repeating that it was the scooter that they supply to all their cruise ships. I wanted to make sure that I warn everyone that I can to NOT use this company for your scooter rental needs

Good (if rather lengthy) service, good scooter, but rather pricey for a 2 week rental

Bad bad experience with these guys.WestJet uses this company to deal with the mishandling of a mobility device that was damage by their baggage handler. I was told this is how it works but there are different stories depending on who you are dealing with. Scootaround says that all the repairs have to go through WestJet to be okayed and WestJet claims that Scootaround make the decision on the claim I don’t know what is true but I do know that someone is not telling the truth.as for Scootaround they have miss handled my claim as so as I started questioning the repairs and replaced part as to if they where new used of repaired I was told this information is between Scootaround and WestJet and the repair facility Moose Mobility I do not get to see any documentation on what was done. I question them as for my mobility scooter is unreliable as for it keeps quitting and has no power which is useless to a disabled person. There are weld’s that show signs of damage such as cracks paint missing from weld’s but Scootaround is fine with not having nothing to prove that the welds are still safe. Maybe they do but I don’t get to see it. My scooter has taken off on its own in the store. The rubber mat is all lifted from the so-called repairs which is a tripping hazard for disabled person. The contact person at Scootaround isLeslie Sidurdson at this point she will not return my calls emails the only contact was to ask if the claim can be closed.I have taken my mobility scooter back to the repair facility multiple times which is 11/2 hour drive one way for me after five times bring it back and forth to try and get it repaired as it was prior to the fall. I asked to send it to the manufacturer to have them look at it or to see some documentation on what was damaged repaired replaced at that point all Communication stopped others than ask to close the claim. I know when my car gets damaged in a accident it is repaired and inspected to be road worth with documentation to prove it I guess a disabled persons mobility device does not.
