So the experience started like this. We walked in, get guided by a waitress to our seat, with sticky floors being very obvious, we get water and order our food. Cue our wait. It took over 30 minutes to get fries, which i had ordered sweet potato fries and been told they were unavailable, then told they were, then finally told they were mistaken and it wasn't available, and another ten minutes for the other person at my table to get his food. Keep in mind we were second in the restaurant after it just opening. The entire time the two waitresses were struggling as more and more guests came in and started ordering, which included two tables of minimum 6 seated. Not gonna rag on them since they were likely swamped and our waitress looked new to the job. Also never recieved any condiments for the table which I forgot was super wobbly the entire time. Overall not gonna reccomend this place unless you want to waste time. Recommendation for the management is please try to get at least another server on duty and have your cooks try to send food so everyone at tables can get their food at the same time as we weren't the only ones getting food at separate times.

The food was delicious. The staff was friendly.I've been going to Max's since I was a kid. I'm so happy it's finally in Winnipeg.Hopefully they will bring in Chicharon bulaklak. We tried their crab fried rice and it was really good. I was worried the crab flavour will be too overpowering but it wasn't. The flavours were balanced well.Among the dishes we tried our favourite was the sizzling tofu. It's definitely a must try if you ever decide to visit Max's.The halo halo was delicious. We forgot how big the serving was! It's big enough to share between two people for sure.

Was looking to try something new in the city, however I couldn’t recommend anyone else give it a go. There was only one server at one point for the entire restaurant, no offers for refill at any point and they forgot a dish in the kitchen and only brought it out after the meal was done. The skewers, lumpia and crab fried rice were good however the pork belly felt over cooked and tough. You would be better off going to Jollibee at least there you would get a reasonable amount of food for a reasonable price.

I am all about supporting Filipino businesses however Max's was a huge let down. I have been here three times -- EACH time we had to wait for someone to notice us just to be seated. Had to wait even longer for someone to take an order and then waited some more to get the bill.Halo Halo and Pandan were 5 stars.Sisig and Kare Kare was okay, not worth the price and long wait!

We decided to check out Max's for dinner and, despite a slight wait for our food, it was definitely worth it! We ordered their chicken inasal, pork inasal, and a plate of heavenly pancit bihon. Oh boy, everything was unbelievably delicious! The pork was tender and packed with amazing flavors, just like the chicken. However, the real winner for us was the pancit—it was absolutely fantastic. We couldn't get enough of it!Now, if I had to suggest an area for improvement, it would be the women's washroom. Unfortunately, it had sticky floors and a slight sewage smell. It would be great if they could address that issue. Nevertheless, the incredible food made up for any inconvenience. All in all, we had a fantastic dining experience at Max's. The food was simply amazing and left us craving for more. Just a small note for the washroom, but apart from that, it was a memorable and enjoyable evening!

A little corner of flavor hidden in the city. The flavors that we discovered in this restaurant were pleasantly surprising, we will definitely visit again and approve some of their other dishes.

Sisig - was chopped up pork thrown to a sizzling plate, no seasoning and onions.Kare-kare - tastes like instant sauce, veggies and meat was still toughBulalo - boiled beef with no seasoning. Beef was so tough meat was still sticking to the bone and hard to chewCrispy pata - was crunchy and tender but has an aftertaste. Taste like it was the pig's hind legs that was not cleaned properlySizzling tofu - plain fried tofu with almost no seasoning/saucePansit - okAll of the dishes feels like the it was rushed (tough meat and undercooked vegetables). Not seasoned properly and mostly tasted like the cook did not care what he brings out from the kitchen.+good service from the wait staff

We were excited about the crispy pata and did not take pictures. Aside from crispy pata and fried chicken, they offer karekare, sinigang na bangus, and sisig.

We went here for a Sunday dinner and we were told that they are doing everything buffet style. This was a change to their usual menu.We received zero service when we arrived. The waiters did not get the tables' drink order. We had to flag waiters down to get water, cutlery, napkins - and at one point they did not have bowls at the buffet so we had to flag them down for those as well. Some of our favorite dishes like lechon kawali, fried chicken, and crispy pata were sitting on the buffet table too long which made them very dry. These dishes are supposed to be made to order to ensure the crispy texture. We did not have much to chose from for desert. They only had two options: ginataang mais and slices of apple, cantaloupe, oranges in water (which was vile).Overall we were dissapointed with the quality of food, limited options, and change to buffet style. Considering the buffet was priced at $24.99, you would be better finding another option.
