Dr Cherly Smits was kind and caring during my pregnancy days. Dr Emily Backmeir took care of my delivery. And she was kind and sweet too. It was my first delivery, so I was bit scared. Both the Doctors took great care during all phases. Highly recommended!

Dr. Smits supported me through the delivery of my second baby. I had a wonderful birthing experience and I owe much of this to her. Dr. Smits is very personable as well as experienced, which meant I had a calm and memorable labour and delivery. She kept me and my husband updated on our babies progress, as well as informed us of what was to come and what to expect at each step. Dr. Smits continues to support our little family, addressing our postnatal questions and concerns in a compassionate, timely and informed manner. I highly recommend seeking prenatal, postnatal support at Old South Maternity Care.

Dr Dales was amazing and i would definitely recommend her. the nurse there was also very welcoming along with the younger receptionist ( Tammy i believe her name is) but the older receptionist was a nightmare!!!!! she was rude to me on multiply occasions and i dreaded speaking to her when i went in for an appointment. i could immediately tell if she answered the phone when i called because of her non existent phone etiquette, its sad because she is the only one there that sours my experience!

My wife’s first pregnancy was followed in this clinic by Dr. Bachmeier, and even after birth. They always pick the phone when we called and always accommodated our needs. Most Front desk people are nice and always willing to help. Only remember of one who looks/acts rude, but at least it never really affected our experience. I used to take this place for granted until I moved to Ottawa and realized how BAD the health system has become! It made me realize that the service I was receiving here was 5/5.

I went here for my first pregnancy and Dr Cheryl Smits was a fantastic doctor. I would definitely recommend her to anyone. The only reason I’m giving a 2 star is because I went back for my 6 week appointment and they put me with a resident doctor which spent the whole appointment calling me obese and talking about weight loss strategies. I’ve never nor do I have any issues due to my weight and I work out regularly. I wear a size 10 in pants and did so even during pregnancy, so focusing the whole appointment on my weight was horrific. What we should of been talking about was my mental health... so I spent months struggling with not only postpartum issues but obsessively trying to loose weight and care for an infant.
