Not impressed with their service. They co e to your home to help and they never do a complete job. The staff that came to my dads place never bathed him properly and refused to do AUTHORIZED tasks set up between us and senior helpers. Also, they were sitting on the couch half the time. Then my dad had heart surgery and we scheduled help for the day he was discharged and NO ONE SHIWED UP!!!!!!!! Terrible service I will never call them again and I absolutely 100% not recommend them to any one ever. They even stopped returning my calls and emails when I was trying to congruent for answers.

It's a pleasure working with Janine the Director of Care. Janine is very knowledgeable and friendly. She's always looking for ways to support and serve the Durham Region. She goes above and beyond and is always able to fulfil the needs of the seniors in our community. Thank you for all that you do. I highly recommend Senior Helpers.

We hired Seniors Helpers to provide companion services for our dad who has Alzheimer's. We were so fortunate to have the same companion for the last year helping our dad five days a week and another companion for the other two days. Dad was treated with exceptional kindness, patience and caring and we are so thankful for the help that he received. The management staff also provided great support and kept us informed of any upcoming changes. We highly recommend Seniors Helpers for your loved ones.

The first thing to say is that these people actually care. For real. Senior Helpers were enlisted to help my parents get ready for a move to an assisted living home. I live overseas and wasn’t able to be there on the week of the move. The carers from Senior Helpers were efficient, intelligent, intuitive, gentle, caring, honest, and hard working. The administrative staff were excellent at communication (both with their staff, and with my parents and myself), responsive, intelligent, caring and the ultimate in adaptability.Just before moving, my mother’s health changed meaning she needed a pureed diet. Upon arrival the home bluntly refused to put food in the blender (yes, it’s true, even in a privately paid for home, which was not cheap, they refused to put food in a blender) for my mother and would not budge. The team at senior helpers leapt into the breach and organised food, got a blender and made sure that my mother had food. They then got straight onto finding another place for my parents to move to, AND organised movers and transportation to get them there. As it happened my mother’s health took another turn meaning that they could not go there either, so they decided to move back to their house.So again, Senior Helpers made sure that they had what they needed when they arrived, and they have been caring for them ever since.Having just been to see my parents, I found that my mother is better than I’ve seen her for years. She is more alert, is engaging more in things, and her posture and mobility have improved. The carers have been doing the exercises from the physio with her every day (no one else has succeeded in getting my mother to do exercise), and they have also put in place many small (but important) habits that have made the world of difference.I cannot praise the team at Senior Helpers highly enough. They have taken my parents, and myself through one of the most difficult episodes of our life, and have saved my parent’s well being, and my sanity. I can’t vouch for Senior Helpers in other regions, but the team in Durham region in Ontario have continuously left me astonished at the quality of care they deliver.If we had found them sooner, my parents never would have considered moving out of their home, as they are now so well cared for, without having to be uprooted from their home.
