Lalibela Restaurant - Bloor St
Been here a couple of times, and they're already one of my favorites in the GTA. Service is very friendly and welcoming. Food is fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully presented. The passion that goes into running their restaurant really shows. A seriously underrated dining experience.Highly recommend the traditional coffee ceremony if you go with a group - Ethiopian coffee is truly unique in the world!

Went as a group of 5. Ordered 2 large platters - veggie and mixed. And it was enough! Portion sizes are big and prices are very decent. Total bill was 80 bucks including non alcoholic drinksFood was delicious and fun to eat in a shared group. There was only 1 server but she managed the whole restaurant pretty well. Had a pretty good time at the place. Definitely recommended especially if going in a group setting where people can share food from the main plate.

A wonderful authentic a Ethiopian cuisine. The platter includes various dishes that showcases this cuisine. The bread is unique and tasty. The price is reasonable and the atmosphere is welcoming. You need to eat with your hands! In great place to to enjoy a nice African meal. Yo won't be disappointed!

Went for a late night dinner at the Lalibela for Ethiopian cuisine. Had heard a lot about this family run Ethiopian restaurant, as it’s been there since ages. Authentic Ethiopian decor and a very pleasant and helpful server. I tried the vegetarian platter ( being veg) and my friends ordered the Non Veg one with a portion of lamb and chicken.I’ve eaten Ethiopian many times and I was not impressed by Lalibela’s veg dish. The food was cold and lacked the flavour and spice balance. The salad in the middle tasted a little stale and wilted. My friends enjoyed the lamb and chicken a lot. They have a vast variety of non veg dishes and it seems very popular for those. For Vegetarian opinion I would not recommend this place.

I highly recommend this place. I have been to a few Ethiopian/Eritrean restaurants, and this is probably the best value for money, authentic Ethiopian dish I have had been to. Try their meat platter if you like meat :)

If you've never eaten Ethiopian food this is absolutely the place to go. Very reasonably priced and full of locals. You eat the food with your hands there is no cutlery. In the picture it is a platter for two. There's meat and vegetarian options. You tear off a piece of the bread which is sort of like soft tortilla and you scoop up the food. You can get spicy or mild. It's absolutely delicious. It's a very small restaurant and a casual environment I would say because they're so busy the service might be a bit slow but it's all part of the ambience. After dinner we had coffee they bring out all the little cups and then have incense that is supposed to ward off the evil spirits. Then they roasted the coffee beans and brought them out for people to smell. The experience was really neat. With the coffee they brought popcorn.I really thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the ambiance.

I’ve been here a few times but haven’t been back since prior to Covid. It was nice to see the level of service and care that goes into every customer’s experience as well as the deliciousness of the food has not changed! I had a birthday lunch with my family there and everything was wonderful and I definitely will be back!

Highly recommend this place. Our go to place had to close due to covid. So we gave this place a try. Food is amazing! It's a small place, we're the focus is on authenticity and friendliness. If you have not tried Ethiopian or are looking for a great place. This is the spot! You will not be disappointed.
