Absolutely adored this place and the owners were super friendly! My friends and I came here and had a lot of fun! They had tons of games to play and good amount of seating! They had a lot of snacks as well, we got popcorn, chips, grilled cheese and different teas! The owners checked up on us multiple times! 10/5 would recommend!

This has been my go-to place for group hangouts for years. Super friendly staff with all the board games you want to play. Food is pretty good for an affordable price. Huge thanks to the owners for keeping this store open and bringing joy to everyone!

The bard and bear is a great place to spend a few hours with friends, playing board games and enjoying the atmosphere. They have a lot of different games to choose from from all different types of genres. while the food and drink is certainly expensive, it is good quality.

super welcoming and chill board game cafe! great atmosphere and great people :) i rlly like the categories for the games and there were a bunch for 2 ppl tht i hadnt seen before! had lots of fun and i highly recommend this place for all board game lovers!

I really liked this place when it opened, my husband and I are huge board game players and often don’t mind the fees of a cafe - we were here opening weekend and tried to go every month to 6 weeks since, bringing friends and family, even tho the food is painfully average (we have stopped ordering… that chip dip is not homemade, we buy it now.) But now, there’s far too many events going on this year. Seems like any time I’m interested in going there’s an event going on. The increase to 7$ per head threw us off as well, especially when food and drinks are so expensive.In this economy, unfortunately I’ll have my own dip and chips, wine and board games at home. This place is no longer worth the 50$ date night sadly.If the food was better I’d gladly pay more.We may still return on the urge to be out in public but the cost for value isn’t there with this establishment, espically the number of times we have paid for parking and seen an event going on.

Of all the board game cafés I've been to this is one of my favorites, the owner and staff are really nice and they have a great selection of games and snacks. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed and they have a patio if you want to get some fresh air while you play.

Four of us had a great time here. Everyone was super friendly and courteous. Megan, one of the owners, was fantastic. She offered game suggestions, and explained how to play our chosen games in an easy to follow way. Seriously A+ service. Plus a great local craft beer selection. We came here on a whim and did not regret it.

Awesome game cafe, ran into it by chance and so glad I did. Servers and bartenders were extremely friendly and helpful and the game selection was amazing. Much more extensive than I expected. Also really nice selection of local beers if you're into that. I'm from Waterloo and I can't wait to come again!
