Shoppers Drug Mart

My family and I have known the previous two owners (Ron Elliott & then Rick Nemett) both professionally and personally. The new owner/pharmacist of the store, whoever he is, has his head on backwards. Completely wrong prescriptions being doled out, having to return two additional times to pick up our prescriptions when I was told it would take 45 minutes (in the past, it would have been done on-site while you wait) and then fast forward 5 hours after the initial prescription drop-off and two follow-up in-person checks, they had then lost the prescription, and then they archived the prescription without supplying it to me. After 25 minutes with me at the counter for the fourth time that day I had the technician find the prescription; eventually, they did. This endeavour cost me 4.5 hours with drive time and wait time when, as stated above, it would have been filled within minutes under the previous two owners. Leadership comes from top down - the owner/pharmacist. I've noticed large turnover, but everyone has been behind the counter long enough to not make the mistakes I've witnessed, or heard direct stories. The fourth chance I gave them, they made me extremely late (30 mins) for an event, when it should have been a basic pick up. I urge you, if you are a client of this pharmacy, to double and triple-check your prescriptions, and press for faster times.

Finding that Shopper’s in St Thomas is not as open to the new procedures the govt has put in place to alleviate ER wait times and lack of doctors. I advise people who want good old customer service and good health support to use your local pharmacies owned and operated by people not huge corporations who have no concern for you. New Govt policies are really good when pharmacists are willing to provide them.

I'm in middle school and go there everyday at break. Cheap and good candy, big makeup selection. Love the workers, they're super nice and helpful.

Extremely rude and unorganized people that work at this pharmacy. I’ve heard the pharmacy staff on multiple occasions talking about customers private medical information and being rude. Tonight I had my own personal bad experience. They try to tell me that my 14 day Libre sensor was a 20 day prescription and I couldn’t get another one for 6 more days. They then say that they got the problem fixed and to come pick up the sensor in an hour. I get a call back 20 minutes later saying that I can’t pick up until tomorrow morning because I’m 6 days too early. They then proceed to put me on hold for 10 minutes before saying they won’t fix the issue that they messed up on. The sensor is only good for 14 days so how am I not able to have another one for 20 days? My prescription is for every 2 weeks and I’ve picked up multiple at a time before. Super unprofessional here and had all my prescriptions sent over to another pharmacy.

Pharmacy sucks. Every single time my son has script to fill. Something goes wrong. The clerks looks at computer and says nope nothing, I don't know what to tell you". Instead of looking for qualified person to ask and see what's going on. One person on phone tells you one thing

This place is so disorganized. Booked 4th shot covid online for 1pm. Arrived 10 minutes early and told to take a seat. A couple were taken in and given theirs and waited 10 minutes and left. Druggist never acknowledged me waiting for my shot so after 30 minutes went to counter where he eventually asked what I needed. Taken back to reception and confirmed my booking and told once again to have a seat. Another 15 to 20 minute wait and finally I was out of there after 2pm!!

Have used pharmacy over a couple decades.When you hear the staff joking about customers being upset because they are slow, I can now say they have gone down hill.Edit; adding the same complaint I see others having. Prescription filled for 9 AM and informed it is ready for pick up, arrive at 9:30 to be told it will be another half hour. Seriously, what is happening?Edit; I must say, I have greatly enjoyed my recent experiences. I appreciate the improvements!

The lady at the counter goes on chit chatting after the customer completed her transaction without even bothering if there was a long line. No other staff member could assist with cashing- out because it was only her till that was open unfortunately. She gave so much attitude and that’s bad customer service for a place like SHOPPERS DRUG MART!

We had our three children scheduled for Covid vaccines, after a few hiccups with not having the correct needles available the owner went to another store to get the correct ones for paediatrics. The pharmacist administering the vaccine so graciously gave each child a chocolate bar and ice cream. Despite the long wait they did everything in their power to keep us informed and made sure the kids could get their vaccines.
