Looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant with great food, an eclectic atmosphere, and generous portions? Look no further than El Sol. While the service can be a bit slow, the wait is well worth it for the delicious dishes that come out of the kitchen.The enchiladas is is a must-try, the mole sauce has deep and complex flavours that are sure to delight your taste buds. I also had the hard tacos, and they did not disappoint. The refried beans are also delicious, not the run of the mill stuff out of a can.I look forward to going back and ordering the chile relleno ahead of time (The menu says it must be ordered 24 hours ahead)Overall, we had a good experience at El Sol, and we left feeling satisfied, with some take out to boot. So if you're in the mood for some tasty Mexican cuisine, definitely give this place a try - just be prepared to wait a little longer for your food.

This is a review and comment to the so called extended review. Really this restaurant should be closed down.The service is really slow, we waited more than 30mins for food. Waiters are ridiculously confusing, didn’t know they gave us water already, and same happened for table next to us. Bar tenders made 5 drinks, which just laid on the counter for more than 5min and not been served.Price of food is expensive, you will spend at least 20 dollar for a regular portion of dish. I am happy to pay if the food is good but it’s not. I can taste the meat in the taco has been cooked, put it in the fridge, and reheated. The meat is dry and has a leftover taste. This is not like the other comment said they make everything fresh. Ordered the spicy on the side, but ended up inside the food.If you don’t want the restaurant to be closed, you will need a lot of work on it. Otherwise, I don’t think it will survive for long. YUMMM the empanadas and the salsa that came with them were so good. the guy working at the front was very kind and sweet. will definitely come back here to dine-in when im in the area again :)

We went here last night after a long time. The food was excellent, very authentic and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The platter for two was the prefect sampler of the restaurant.

Really enjoyed our first time at El Sol. Very friendly staff and eclectic ambiance added to the experience. Portions are generous and in this reviewers opinion authentic mexican food... No westernized versions here.I do plan on returning and bringing friendsI gave it a 4 vs 5 due to the black bean enchiladas not being marked on the menu as spicy. I enjoy lots of spice and liked the meal but I was sharing with someone who doesn't enjoy this much spice so I had to eat it solo.I didn't experience the slow service other reviewers noted

I had to most amazing Baja Mexican food. It just such a a delicious experience. I can't tell you enough to go and eat the food there.. every single mouth was an explosion of flavor. Just amazing

The decor is fabulous and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The portions are a large, but it’s Mosley just rice and beans. The cost does not reflect the effort of their food. The takeout packaging was sloppy and our food unappetizing- it didn’t taste much better.We asked for mild, everything was spicy.The empanadas were the only thing we liked. Most of our $80 take our meal went to waste. We won’t be back.

If you have time and love Mexican food, then go here. It's one of the feemw restaurants where I feel like it was truly made with love. The platter was delicious and incredibly filling. Somehow the tacos were incredibly hot despite them having about 20 minutes to cool. My only warning is that those in a rush sholsnt come by. They were slightly understaffed, but everyone did so well.

What a little enchanting place. El Sol has so much of character due to the random pieces of art. Almost feels like you need to spend about 30 minutes before your meal to check everything out so you know what’s around you.The meal was absolutely delicious, homey and satisfying. The salsa, guacamole and homemade chips were to die for.So if you are ever in the area and want to take your tastebuds for a ride, you won’t be sorry! This is as authentic as Mexican food gets.
