We hired Matthew for an eleven story apartment building project that we were bidding on. We need full size scale drawings of the entire building including all electrical and mechanical equipment and devices. The drawings our client originally provided were incomplete, outdated, unscaled and made up from previous reports that were not useable at all. Matthew was great to work with. He showed up at the agreed upon time and took all field measurements within a couple of hours and produced a full set of electrical working drawings within a few weeks for a great price. Matthew presented himself with professionalism, knowledge and kindness that is hard to come by these days.I would highly recommend Matthew to anyone looking for a professional draftsman.Wayne

We engaged Matt from By Design for some planning and design work with our master ensuite and basement development. He was incredibly professional and knowledgeable from the get-go, learning about our needs and making valuable suggestions. He came back to us quickly with some draft concepts and then walked us through the various considerations before we finalized the plans. The 3D renders of the ensuite were incredible and really allowed us to visualize the space. Most of the work was done ourselves but when contractors were engaged they were impressed by the detail and accuracy of the plans/ drawings stating that they were done with the highest level of quality.Matt also went above and beyond by working with different agencies related to building permits, learning about a new jurisdiction (Beckwith/ Lanark) and having discussions and follow up with inspectors on our behalf.Overall excellent service across the board, from design all through the permitting process.

Matt from by design was great to work with! He designed a full second storey renovation for our 1.5 storey house. He brought a ton of knowledge and great ideas to the project. He listened to what we were hoping to achieve with a renovation and did a terrific job actualizing it. He handled all the communication/correspondence with the structural engineering firm and helical pile company, as well as applying for the necessary permits. I would certainly recommend Matt!

We used byDesign to create plans to install a window in our dining as we wanted more natural light. He was very professional and gave us different options on how to do it.
