Dr. A Hiltz is not only incredibly good at what he does he also has integrity and a conservative approach to any and all procedures. He is that rare guy who didn't go to dental school just to make loads of money, which unfortunately in Toronto is a rare find. Can't recommend him enough.

Had some dental work done here (bone fragment transplant / reconstruction and eventual root canal for a full front tooth replacement). Treated with care, provided superb service, and wonderful atmosphere. Dr. Anna was who I saw.

Dr. Alan Hiltz is a wonderful practitioner! He put an implant in for me beautifully about 7 years ago with absolutely no problems. He's kind and nice with a great bedside manner. He's consulted me a couple of times about other possible dental work and demonstrated he isn't all about the money and cares for what is best for his patients. I highly recommend Dr. Hiltz - he's awesome!

I was honestly petrified to get this done but the doctor and the staff were amazing. It was honestly a painless procedure and I felt so well looked after. The recovery is tougher but with some good meds and if you follow their directions, the results are fantastic. Highly recommend Rosedale Periodontics.

I had heard negative things about gum grafts from friends, but Dr De Feilippo won my trust very quickly. There was a patient process of assessment and explanation and she was good at explaining and showing me why I in fact needed a relatively small graft. This was no rushed conclusion at all.She and her assistant executed perfectly, and I’m grateful for it.

I was referred to Dr. Di Filippo by my dentist who I love and trust so I had no reason to have reservations about the gum grafting procedure I needed to have done. Initially Dr. Di Filippo was exceptionally pleasant as was her assistant. I was assured that my recession was going to be covered up and everything would be great. I had a good experience during the surgery too, very little pain and I was told that the surgery went really well. My gums started healing very quickly after the procedure, the glue that they covered the surgery site with was quite strong but came off after 8 days. After it came off I noticed that there was root exposure on both of the teeth I had the procedure done on still visible. The glue had adhered itself to the roots and looked like it prevented the gum from falling below that line. It looked like the stitches were pulled too tight and the recession was still exposed. I called the clinic twice and was told by the receptionist that this is normal, then I called Dr. Di Filippo and managed to get an earlier follow up appointment to address my concerns. In the week after my surgery I reviewed hundreds of post surgery accounts from other patients (not belonging to this clinic) and did not see recession on anyone’s post op sites. So naturally I was concerned as this did not seem alike a normal outcome. I was prescribed Peridex without advance warning that not would stain all of my other teeth (I now have to have cleaning done to remove the stains). When I tried to address my concerns with Dr. Di Filippo about the recession not being covered up I was met with much resistance and gaslighting. Suddenly now my gum tissue wasn’t good enough, the recession I was previously told was not super bad was now terrible so I was lucky they covered it up as much as they did, and they did the best they could. Also somehow the fact that I had wisdom tooth surgery three weeks prior had something to do with the graft not covering the roots properly, that I rushed the procedure (I’m sorry what?). It was reason after reason after reason, when to me it made no sense why they were able to cover 60% of the tooth but leave the other 30-40% of the root exposed on the sides. It looked like the gum was just not placed far enough half way through the tooth. Anyhow, I was given a bunch of word salad as an answer to my concerns including that the site wasn’t healed enough and that the gums would come down and cover the exposure eventually. I am no periodontist but I know that gums won’t come down on exposed roots that’s why I needed this surgery in the first place. This simple fact was later reinstated by Natalie, the manager of the clinic, so I don’t know why the Doctor kept telling me that the gums would come down. Dr. Anna grew visibly impatient and confrontational when faced with the fact that the results were not what I had been told they would be. I told her what would happen if I came back six months later and the gums did not close the recession, her answer was ‘Well I certainly wouldn’t touch you again” and “I’ve been more than patient with you”. Then she said she’d write me a cheque for my money back, when asked if I want my money back, to which I replied ‘sure’. I was literally in tears in disbelief that this Doctor I recommended to my parents, to my friends in the past week after my initial visit was so unprofessional and that under this sweet demeanour was this person who could not address my concerns or take responsibility, who was offloading responsibility on me and gaslighting me. I don’t believe that any proper surgeon who stands by their work is going to throw your money back at you so to speak and tell you they won’t touch you again. I appreciate the fact that mistakes happen, that sometimes surgeons don’t deliver 100%, but then own this and offer solutions. I feel really depressed about this experience. I feel profoundly sad and betrayed by the way this situation was handled by the doctor who performed my surgery, especially because I had thought so highly of her when we first met.
