Ava Hair Studio

I got a balayage & cut done from Ava and I was extremely happy with the results! She was super nice and the blend was great. The salon is located in downtown Oakville, I would highly recommend it if you're in town!

Unfortunately I didn’t get good results for highlights. I went to the salon for consultation much earlier than my actual appointment and wanted to ensure that she understands my needs; however, still low quality results. I told her that I absolutely hate beige/ yellow tone and my hair ended up exactly yellow. What makes me more upset is that my hair ends were nice ashy blonde and it wasn’t that difficult to highlight just 2 inches of the roots to the same level/colour. A few things when I compare my experience with other colourists:1) The right colourist usually keeps checking your hair, when they apply bleach, to check your hair health and also the progress, then reapply the products if needed, make some adjustments, etc to ensure the ultimate results but Ava put the bleach on my hair and just washed it after 45 minutes. It was so odd to not even check! Especially my dark hair doesn’t normally get to the required base level that quickly and often need adjustments and takes longer.2) There is a terrible line between my natural hair and highlights. No techniques used like shadow root or root smudge, etc.

Great place and the lady was amazing! She really took care of my hair and you can feel that she’s treating her job as a craft not as routine !Thank you.

Would give 0 stars if I could. My coworker came in from getting her hair done here and looked HORRIBLE! A blind person could have done better. They offered to fix her hair and it looks bad still but not as bad as before. Keep in mind still nothing like the hair she had asked for. They should be ashamed of themselves that they refused her a refund. Not only can she not touch her hair now from how much damage was done but she had to waste her time and money to go there twice now. Beware!!!

very beautiful Ava and her team are amazing! I had boxed dye black hair and I left the salon feeling beautifully blonde. She made no promises upfront as she wasn't 100% sure how it would turn out. She carefully monitored my hair as it lifted to ensure it was healthy and not breaking. She is funny which made the time go by fast and explained to me the whole process. Her prices are reasonable and the salon is super clean. I have already recommended her to my friends and I will definitely be coming back.1

The owner of this salon is on the Uber app accepting Ubers while she’s at work with no intention of delivering them. From the reviews on this establishment it’s safe to say this Ava lady is a super goof.

I'd like to share my daughters experience, which I am devastated by how she was treated by Ava. she went for a haircolour, cut and some highlights. Ava then told her she needed to have balayage done, my daughter was down and wanted to do her hair to feel good, cheer her up. when she came home, it was clear she did not get a balayage which she did not even ask for, there was this thick part on top of her hair that looked like regrowth, etc and way too many light pieces. she paid a crazy amount of money, almost 600 dollars ! for what? she ruined her hair. she made an appointment the following Monday to fix it, which Ava, failed to show up after my daughter drove from Newmarket. long story, had to rebook again another Monday, all she did was put a darker colour to supposedly fix it, week later, it faded already, it's like my Daughter just threw this money in the garbage. even Ava's attitude was terrible, she lacks customer service and not professional. I am so sad for my daughter it just breaks my heart. will also be reporting to the better business Bureau. the picture alone, hope it uploaded says it all. Buyer beware.

Ernesto cuts long and short hair and has a great sense of style for what would look good on you. Also a shout out to the staff as a whole. Totally recommend the place.Ava is a great
