Jon DeSantis promises excellence but delivers on little. He guided us through the glossy promotional material and assured us that buying the top of the line products would last us for decades to come! He told us our roof would be “wrapped like a present”. The end product feels like a lump of coal.In the contract we were given assurances like “underlayment installed over new wood.” There was nothing written like, “except in the places where there is satisfactory plywood already existing”. In writing we were assured that the contractor would “install all flashing & fixtures to roof surface.” We didn’t expect to find multiple unwritten exceptions, instead to be sealed with ugly looking strips of tar that are known to not hold up over the years and will require regular maintenance over the years. Metal drip edge was attempted to be installed after the shingles had already installed, without removing the existing drip edge…either that or the promised drip edge was simply ignored. This workmanship has a ghastly appearance and is unacceptably unappealing.In the contract we were assured vents would be reinstalled once removed. No vents were put in at all. I could go on and talk (and demonstrate with pictures) about siding that was not properly reinstalled and blew off with the first strong wind. Drip edge that is still missing. Gaping holes that are not filled. This is an absolute fiasco of shoddy workmanship! There is no other way to describe it!

If I could give DeSantis PEI negative stars I would. I typically don't write negative reviews - my motto is usually, ‘if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all’; but I don't want anyone else to make the same mistake we did in hiring DeSantis Roofing PEI.DeSantis PEI finished work on our roof September of 2022 - 7 months ago.Last July, my husband and I met with Jon DeSantis. He came out and looked at the roof of our house and small barn. Yes, he agreed, the shingles need to be replaced. He talked us through the various options - promised us the completed product would not only meet standards, but exceed standards. IF the standards were met, they were met at the lowest possible level.I've attached a number of pictures to illustrate our frustration with DeSantis Roofing - here's a brief outline of what the pictures show.Parts of a roof with no drip edge; parts of a roof with a double drip edge (who does that?!).Places where shingles have too much overhangA picture of a portion of our barn roof where Jon took his skill saw to cut off excess shingles and plywood(!?) a 2x4 has been placed along the edge to demonstrate what a straight edge is.No ventilation installed - DeSantis promised it - but didn't supply. Said the roof actually didn't need it, nor did it have a vent to begin with - not true - note the picture of the vent we found along with all the other debris from our roof.A few extra pictures are attached to give a complete overview of the quality of workmanship provided by DeSantis Roofing PEI.Upon the completed completion of our roof, a number of 5 star reviews appeared. After one negative review another batch of 5 star reviews appeared...We feel DeSantis Roofing PEI made a mess of our roof. A roof we will now have to fix and finish - again.
