Altar Tattoo

I got a tattoo by Kennedy. I have very bad anxiety, and wanted a simple “patchwork style mushroom tattoo”. She left the room every time she wanted to alter the stencil (I only noticed the dab pen in her pocket while she was tattooing me). I agreed to the alterations she recommended.Again she claimed to be friendly and welcoming but the second I walked in I felt judged and unwelcome.The tattoo positioning ended up being so uncomfortable/horrible and when I reacted to the bad positioning she made me feel like I was a burden:/ she had my arm hand off of the table while I was on my stomach, as she did the back of my arm.I got this tattoo years ago and to this day I am still looking for artists who can cover it (it’ll be removed eventually). It’s horribly done, the line work is horrendous and nothing like what is showcased on her Instagram/tiktok.I found Kennedy on tiktok and I was so excited. I have never been so let down. Not only did I expect a professional environment, but I expected a sober artist.I returned to altar tattoo later for another tattoo by another artist - who did a great job, and was sober (or at least didn’t have her dab pen sticking out of her pocket), and made me feel welcome. So it isn’t that hard, clearly.The second artist was amazing. But I have never recommend anyone to go here - and have even had my friends cancel apts with Kennedy after hearing about my experience.You make customers sign a wager stating they’re of sober mind, the least they can expect is that their tattooer isn’t high.I have never been so disappointed in a tattoo/artist as I was w Kennedy.

By far the best place to get a tattoo! I've only been tattooed by Ana but they have other artist with different styles. This place is so calm and inviting which is the complete opposite of other big name tattoo studios in Calgary. Its a well maintained and clean space with each artist having their own space to make their own. Ive already booked a couple more tattoos with Ana and look forward to my appointments. If you are looking for a tattoo artist who is respectful and passionate about their work I highly recommend Ana, I recommend her to all my friends.

I love the vibe at Altar Tattoo. It’s perfect for people who want to invest in a tattoo but don’t feel comfortable going in to regular “tattoo shop”. Private rooms for each artist and secure entry from the main building are awesome. Eclectic, relaxed and clean!

I have had a few pieces done by Kennedy over the past while. She is always very friendly and welcoming. I love her vibe and positive attitude. Her studio is always clean and comfortable with an aesthetic that matches her perfectly. She designed my tattoos, as I had pictured, and we did no reworking of them because I was happy from the start.She asked if I preferred numbing cream and I feel she went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable through the entire process. She never minded my follow up questions for after care and helped me make the right decisions for my body. She has great communication, awesome taste in music and a general kindness about her. Professional, friendly, inclusive, sober, genuine person. Would recommended 10/10 to everyone.

I have been getting tattooed by Kennedy since the day I turned 18. Kennedy has always been so kind and respectful when it comes to getting tattooed. She always ensures I am comfortable with the placement and design. She also always has snacks on hand for if you’re feeling woozy at all! Throughout my tattoos , Kennedy always checks in to make sure I’m doing okay and to ask if I need a break. Overall my experience over the years with Kennedy have been nothing short of amazing. She has always hit the nail on the head with her concepts and designs and absolutely kills the execution. All my tattoos over the years have healed well and I always have people asking who did them ! I will ALWAYS suggest Kennedy.Kennedy is always able to squeeze me in and is extremely flexible with appointments which is great because I have a daughter I always need to arrange childcare for.I genuinely cannot wait for our future projects together and I’m so so glad I’ve found my forever artist! She has truly taken the time to get to know me and my style and she is able to come up with something perfect every time I come in.I will seriously never run out of good things to say about Kennedy!

Incredible customer service, great communication and such a rad studio. My tattoo artist Kyla is amazing. Check out her IG @arachnophile! I sat for my first 6 hours and she did everything humanly possible to make sure I was comfortable. Can't wait to finish this sternum piece! ❤️

I highly recommend kaylie!There's no one else I would go to for fine lines. Amazing artist. Out of my 5 tattoos with 5 different Artists, hers is the only one that didn't get inflamed and bleed.
