FAA Certified ignition systems to replace half of the present magneto system on a 14 CFR 23 certified airplane. This is an edit of my previous review. I have recently had a VERY difficult troubleshooting adventure that I did get the founders involved in, and it did cause me to replace the leads at my expense (no success). It turned out to be the PLASTIC cannon plug attached to the Coil Pack. one of the pins had not been completely seated in its tube causing an intermittent failure of one coil. Did I mention that there is a PLASTIC cannon plug for an essential engine system installed forward of the firewall on a certified aircraft/installation???? Also the method of intalling the lead nuts/ferrules on the ignition wires is materially stressful. This was the first approved system, so Electroair had to do all the legwork and establish a baseline for those coming after, as well as educate the FAA certification folks. In the industry, we DO appreciate that effort! I have about 950 hours experience with the system, and to put it in a nutshell, I think you will save a fair amount of fuel, but probably not save on maintenance in the long run. The cost of replacement components is high after the warranty period, but understandable given the cost of the whole process for Electroair. High and hot aircraft performance conditions (i.e. CO or UT in the summer) is where this concept shines. You won't gain much at sea level. I have faith that his system will be refined and be a great product!
