I wish I could give no stars. We had a horrible experience with a family member on the retirement side. It was a nightmare. Everything from bugs to improper handling of medical emergencies. We got our family member out of there and their quality of life has improved greatly. The staff were lovely but as someone else said it just wasn't enough. We worried constantly about the family member while they were there.

Our grandmother is a resident of the Nursing side and its not very good. She started her care in the retirement side and it was much better. Before moving her in, she was doing well at home but we felt she would need someone on call at all times due to her age. Since moving in to Chelsea Park, she has fallen 5 times , had a wound dressing on her ankle not changed for 5 days, been put to bed at 7pm (she is a natural night hawk), gained a lot of weight, had her diabetes skyrocket to major consequence, sat in her own mess" for far too long

Employees are overworked and understaffed.. why not hire agency workers!? Because management cares more about money than people .. I recommend mount hope at st joes for your loved ones, much better standard of care!

It is so sad that I don't have nice and caring experience dealing with the Chelsy Park for six years.

Are you responsible for finding care for somebody you HATE? Look no further than Chelsey Park!If you're looking for a care home for somebody you LOVE, heed my warning and don't step a foot inside the doors of Chelsey Park.As a resident of Chelsey Park, you can look forward to being neglected, having meals skipped, having medications skipped, having personal care and hygiene skipped, and the worst living conditions you could possibly imagine, including bed bugs, for the low, low cost of thousands of dollars a month! Your meals will look like the cheapest, nastiest boiled thing they could find, but don't worry you're welcome to buy a replacement meal from the store.Your loved one will be left helpless in their room for most of the day, with outdated and broken supplies and call alarms that are nowhere near where they're needed. When they fall and get hurt, even though they were labelled as a high fall risk and should have had more safety measures in place, you can look forward to their wounds being covered with whatever they can find, in our case, paper napkins and tape, no cleaning at all. Just left to fester. Your loved one will be covered in so many bruises you'll be left wondering, did they really fall, or is somebody here abusing them? You'll walk in one day and find your elderly loved one with dementia has left the dining room where they were supposed to be supervised, being allowed to walk out the front door by themselves 20 minutes before they're locked for the night and staff leave. Thanking the lord you walked in at the right moment or they'd have been locked outside for 13 hours in the elements. You'll be lied to at intake about all of the wonderful things provided at Chelsey Park, and within a few days be extremely disappointed. You'll hope things happening in those first days are just flukes but soon find out they weren't. You'll struggle after hours to make any contact with your loved ones or get in the doors even though you're simply supposed to be able to call the number and have the door opened. Nobody will ever have any idea what's going on and when you have questions you'll be given the runaround.Bed change is only once a week, and don't you DARE think for a second that if your loved one soils their bedding that they'll change the bedding or help them. No! Unless you can get there to do it yourself, they can look forward to laying in their soiled, pee and feces soaked beds until the next bedding change next week. They can also look forward to being left in the same clothing for days on end. But don't you worry! In lieu of changing the bedding and fresh clothes, staff will be sure to add an automatic air freshener to their room to mask the scent.Just walk away. Don't step foot in this hell hole. Don't sacrifice your loved ones to the most depressing life they could possibly imagine.No. Don't walk. RUN.

My father was on the assisted living side. Ever extra need you have to pay extra for even though you are paying over 3000. They don't have much for activities and don't seem to care if they get involved. My mom was on the long-term side. I cannot even begin on how terrible the care is. Some staff are very kind but there is not enough. So happy to say both my parents are in another facility and are thriving.
