An interesting large house converted to a hostel. I wish I had more time to converse with the various denizens but was just in town for a concert for one night. Did make a drinking buddy in the basement kitchen, which my private room was the only adjacent, so could be fairly boisterous without a cause for concern. Coffee machine could use an upgrade — it’s one where you have to put a filter in, which I’m sure I failed spectacularly at. Some furniture is tired in the common areas, but for the lower price is to be expected and adds an air of mystique. Wifi good for working remotely/studying.

Had a great stay at this guesthouse! The rooms were well put together and very clean. The shared spaces were also well decorated and clean, it definitely felt like a home. Such a gorgeous house from the exterior and interior. It was a unique place to stay to meet other travelers from around the world. Very centrally located, within walkable distance to the train to Toronto. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I'd highly recommend others to stay here, especially considering their prices!

First time ever stayng in hostel setting for me. It felt more like B&B which I have run myself in past, and have stayed in several over the years. I'm in my 60's now and was sure to be viewed as the creepy guy, but didn't get this feel at all. Felt very relaxed, comfortable, extremely convenient and of good value. Just wanted a basic accommodation for one evening and it delivered well for my needs. Much better than seedy motel would for similar but still much higher price. I had private room directly off lower kitchen. Free coffee and basic cereals was nice touch and appreciated in morning. Enjoyed the coffee (preferred drip over machine and both were available) but had my own food for duration. I dried all the dishes and put away in appreciation. There weren't many. Think the building was less than half full, but chatted with a few nice folks (well 1 at least). Room was great. Heating system seemed to be working hard to heat this lower level. It was a bit noisy with rattle and I needed to grab extra blanket, which we were welcome to. Worked out fine, and I managed to get the rattle out of my mind. There was no carry over noise from the rest of building. Love the architecture of these older buildings and I got some ideas for my own place now. Particularly the staircase. I only had short 1 night stay but would have enjoyed longer. Sure to be back when in Hamilton next time. Parking worked out great for me, which i was concerned about as driving from Owen Sound to unfamiliar area in my new Sentra. I understand is limited to drive but there was a spot for me and was easy access. Great. Host (Tanya) was expecting me, and was very kind and accommodating. I enjoyed it, Thank you.Was beautiful drive back to boot.

Everything about the Pring Guesthouse exceeded my expectations. Very happy that I stayed here for a week on my road trip and skipped Toronto. Felt like a second home. Hamilton is an interesting place and I also enjoyed the many hikes/waterfalls surrounding the city.

Pring Guesthouse. Good day. My name is Oleksandr, I am from Ukraine. If you need to stay for the night in the city of Hamilton not for all the money in the world, then in my opinion, Pring Guesthouse is the best option (there is something to compare it with). This is a small, clean, quiet hotel with a very good location (a 10-minute walk to the city center). There are parking spaces. Free coffee and tea. And the kindness, friendliness and politeness of the hosts gives a feeling of a homely atmosphere. Although the hotel unfortunately has a small drawback, it is not rubber, so reserve rooms in advance. PS. Pring Guesthouse is the best choice for you and your wallet. You will not regret. Good travels and success to all.

I had a wonderful time in the mixed dormitory at Pring Guesthouse. The hosts are lovely and the house is always clean, full of supplies for travelers and the decorations are amazing. It’s fully booked most of the days in September so you have to book it in advance and I am sure that the price (at least for the mixed dorm) is the best price in Hamilton.Although I am an introvert, I have met a lot of people here from around the world and around Canada, all nice folks, and it seems that people tend to come back to this place whenever they visit Hamilton.

Great stay in a cute guesthouse! Location was close to the center of Hamilton, easy to get to events and restaurants. Host was incredibly nice. Hostel is clean and quiet, with nice folks passing through. Showers and bathrooms were clean as well. Towels, coffee, tea, and cereal are provided. There is a spacious common room with books and a TV, also a backyard. Beds are comfy but I wish there was an outlet for each bunk (there are some along the walls but I couldn’t reach them in the top bunk). Laundry available if needed. Also, very affordable!! I really appreciated having a safe, pleasant stay without breaking my wallet. So worth it, would stay here again.
