First time client! Registration was easy and lots of session options so far. I love that my teen's lessons are tailored for him and not just following a standard curriculum. For sure it's more expensive than community centre lessons, but you will get easy registration and quality swim instruction.

My kids have been with Swim Fins for half a year. They have improved their confidence in water and postures in swimming. Coaches are nice and encouraging. Small class size is a big plus.

We've been with this organization since they were called Swim Clo and had a location in Vancouver, then stopped when that location closed down. We were so happy to hear that they opened up their Richmond location that we signed up right away. My eldest daughter has progressed so smoothly with Swim Fins. She struggled with passing Swim Kids 5 countless times with other swim schools, but once she got into Swim Fins, it didn't take long (2 years?) for her to get to Swim Kids 10.My youngest (4 years old) just started lessons this January. He's been so afraid of getting water in his eyes that I was a bit worried about how he'd do in the lessons. Turns out he LOVES going to swim class and looks forward to it each week! Finally, what I love the most about Swim Fins is the perpetual registration system. I really appreciate that I just register once and I never have to think about registration ever again. No more waiting for registrations to open and trying to coordinate times for all my kids. All 3 of mine can swim together.

Swim Fins has made a huge impact on our kids' swimming abilities. Our eldest was comfortable for a stroke or two in the deep water, that was it. Our youngest wouldn't go into any water without wearing her floaties even if she could touch the bottom. They were 7 & 9 when they started lessons at Cloverdale East in January 2022.After the 1st session of lessons with Swim Fins, from Jan - Apr 2022, both girls showed a huge jump in confidence in general in the water. At Grandview, for a family swim, the youngest would finally swim in the kiddie pool without arm floaties (this was a huge step for her). The kids did the Apr - June session that followed. In summer, my eldest was able to swim in the lake without needing a noodle all the time. The younger one still used a life jacket.Next, the girls did their 3rd session from Sept – Dec 2022, aged 8 & 10 now. At a family swim at Grandview in Nov, we noticed huge strides in their confidence again. They swam confidently in the kiddie pool, then the middle pool, then the deep end – they loved it! The youngest hung onto the wall but would swim away every minute or less with no floaties in the deep water. At the next family swim in Dec 2022, they went straight to the deep-end and practiced diving from the edge and jumping in, etc, etc. We spent an hour in the deep-end alone - no more floaties, yay.BUT, even more than just comfort in the water, our girls now have their Red Cross Levels 4 & 5 and are working on their next level. Passing these levels means the girls can work towards becoming a lifeguard later if they so choose. I like the report card system and receiving badges where I have something tangible in my hand that shows their progress. Also, the pure convenience of having both kids in the same lesson is WONDERFUL. I cannot express this enough as my time is extremely limited. This allowance really gave my youngest a boost of confidence to be with her older sister from the get-goSwim instructor shortage: We have not had much problem with swim instructor shortages at our location so far. Over all our time so far (Jan 2022 – Jan 2023, there have only been maybe 3 cancellations). You do not get a refund, your account is credited. The teachers change between sessions, but all the teachers we've had have been great! Every single one! The girls have liked them all.In regard to complaints from others about make-ups and no place to change, this is all written in the parent handbook. ALL the policies are there for parents to know UP FRONT. I read the policies and decided, I was OK with these policies BEFORE signing up for lessons. The main reasons I chose Swim Fins was because of the smaller class size, the warmer pool (hotel pool), the quiet atmosphere compared to a large public pool, the ability for both kids to go to the same lesson time (this was huge for me) and the way they taught the kids, i.e. their use of goggles and flippers right away. I chose Cloverdale East and WAITED (patiently) a whole session to get into this location because of the wrap and go policy. This location is only a 10-minute drive from our house. I instructed my girls to put on jogging pants & fleece sweater before they exit. I have their seats in the car covered with another towel. Then we drive straight home to shower/bath. This routine is OK for us. You CHOOSE this method when you choose swim fins. It may not be OK for everyone, but it is written in the policies. So, overall, I rated Swim Fins a 5 because they met my expectations when it came to teaching my kids to swim and to feel confident in the water. Not only that, but my girls enjoy going to lessons, no complaints ever. Last, from my point of view, everything was clearly stated in the parents’ handbook. There were no surprises as I read all the policies BEFORE signing up. If you want your kids to learn to swim, Swim Fins, is hands down the best choice in my mind (especially for the more quiet atmosphere and convenience of both kids being able to go to the same lesson time).

My son has been enjoying his lessons here each week.***Be aware that this company automatically re-enrolls your child for the next season's sessions at the same date and time, unless you remember to withdraw and cancel before the deadline. It's easy to forget this, and you if you forget you may get charged on your credit card for lessons you don't want any longer and they have a strict no-refund policy.

My daughter started her first ever swim lessons with Swimfins at age 9. By the third lesson she was not only comfortable in the water, but able to swim on her own. The instructors were excellent at providing feedback after every lesson, and utilizing flippers and boards until she was comfortable enough on her own. I enrolled my older son in the following winter session along with my daughter and love that they can go together despite different levels!

We really want to make sure our son becomes a confident swimmer. Having small group lessons (he is only with one other child) allows him to get quality instruction. He enjoys going and is learning so much.

My son has been swimming for a few years but had difficulties overcoming a certain hurdle. Speed was always a factor and since he joined Swim Fins, he has the confidence he needed. He seems to enjoy himself a lot more in the water.Thank you.
