Sobeys Fonthill

Came here to pickup a few ingredients and to see if there was any interesting vegan options. Layout is pretty easy to follow, no complaints. Small store but good amount of items. Good selection of produce. Some unique vegan items that other retailers don’t carry, but I wouldn’t say that Sobeys as a whole is as vegan-friendly as other chains like Superstore. The prices here aren’t great though, I usually shop at Superstore in St Catharine’s and I was shocked by some of the prices here. For the better prices and more variety, I’d stick with my usual store but it’s nice that there’s Sobeys as an option in Fonthill.

This is grose and ill never feed my dogs this food from sobies aggen, this pet food looks excellent in every other store. You guys are going to poison a pet or a perosn. Ive attached photos these bags are apparently the same food, its clear to see the off coloure in the chiken!

What a treat having Sobey’s open on a long weekend. The staff are very dedicated.

Best supermarket in Niagara area. Sales items almost always in stock with Fresh produce and excellent quality meats.

The people at this store are fantastic. Ron and his staff are the best examples of what excellent customer service is all about. I have been a loyal customer for many years and they treat me like royalty each and every time I enter the store, trumpets included. Top shelf, 5 star, highly recommend!!

Some numbskull keeps changing the location of the food basics to be in the location of the sobeys, and changes the location of the sobeys to be up the hill at Haist St where the Esso gas station is. I have had Google correct this dozens of times. I guess this is what I do now? My hobby?

Officially done with this store. I have never bought so many expired items from a grocery store in my life. I never return the item as I find it's too much work for me to go back on such a busy schedule so I eat the cost and call it a day. This has happened at least 30 times now though and today was the last straw.There is a Sobeys closer to my house in Welland but I go to the Fonthill location as it has a few staple items I use on the regular for my meal prep that I can't get at the other Sobeys. So it's extra frustrating when I have mapped out my balanced meals for the week which require the items I purchased, only to find out the item is way expired. I am pretty flexible with expiry dates too depending on the item I will still use it. But more often than not it smells funky or doesn't look right so I can't, like today for instance...I bought these wraps the other day without checking the expiry (I usually always do now when I purchase from this location) and went to make my breakfast wrap this morning and the wraps felt dry which is strange for this brand, I have bought these many times before. So I checked the expiry....SEPTEMBER 2022!! Brutal. Will be returning the item tonight for a refund.Also on a few other occasions my boyfriend and I have pointed out to the staff items that have are way past the expiry on the shelves. Staff are friendly and store is clean....but I will no longer be returning given how terrible they are with keeping expired items stocked on the shelf. If you do go here CHECK EVERY EXPIRY DATE of everything you need before purchasing.

Nice store. Very clean and organized. The staff are very helpful but the prices are a little high. They have really good sales which make up for the higher regular priced items.

Top notch customer service from cashier named Nicole. After being directed to go to another til by another cashier, the til was empty and Nicole saw this and left the self checkout area and jumped on to cash me out. Excellent customer service

Very expensive to buy groceries here.
