Metcalfe Fare Bar and Grill
This used to be on of our favorite go to spots for a quick meal or coffee and a snack. Our last couple visits the food has been declining, under and over cooked, thrown on the plate, just a general decline in quality. Despite that, the prices have gone up (beyond what one would consider reasonable for our area). Several others I have spoke with also confirmed they have noticed the same. Very unfortunate this was such an amazing little gem.

First time back. Got my second COVID shot yesterday. Time to celebrate with a great breakfast. Service only outside now under large tent. Well spaced out tables. Very windy but still enjoyable.

I used to frequent the Fare when it fist opened but sadly, things have really gone downhill. I was in today for brunch, there was food all over the floor and the restaurant really looked dirty. It took 25 minutes until someone came to take our order then it was sorry we're out of bacon" and "sorry

The variety of the menu was good. Lots to choose from. The food was good as well. The place is not that large, but that's OK. Cozy☺. I removed one star only because when it does get a bit busy, the food takes a while to get to your table. But the food was good.

I will be going back again! Great service! Delicious fresh food! Big screen TVs. Double Caesars were $6 and were a treat. Nice variety on the menu. Clean and modern decor with lots of light. Family friendly. Plenty of parking, too. Recommended.

We live in the Russell area, where there are few good restaurant options, and decided to give this place a try.My husband and I decided to order a pizza to share. It was very average to below average. Very salty, wet (soggy) and just really blah. And the dish it was served on was weird - a large square plate,,, so the pizza didn't lay flat. Odd.It's a cute place. Too bad the food isn't great.

Fish tastes like it was cooked a week ago. Fries were flavourless and seemed like they were cooked in month-old oil. Soup wasn’t edible. French onion was beyond gross. Wings are bloody in the middle and got sent back. Looked like 15 year olds cooking our food.I don’t think a single person at our table of 6 was happy with our meals. The waitress didn’t seem shocked or at all concerned with our complaints and still charged us for the sent back food.The place looks trashy, empties and beer kegs scattered all over the bar area. I had to step over a keg to get in our booth. Very loud bar crowd at 5pm. Wobbly chairs and dirty tables. If what you can see is dirty, I can imagine what the kitchen looks like.We keep giving this place a chance, but we will not be going back again. It’s a shame. It would be nice to have a good local option.

I'm sorry to see Danny leave the kitchen and hopefully he can come back after he's feeling better. Get well soon!That being said you guys did great finding a replacement. The new Chef is doing an awesome job. Lunch today was a Grilled Cheese sandwich with Ham (big chunks of REAL Ham) Goat cheese and zucchini sided with steak and mushroom soup...I'm usually not that adventurous but thought I'd test out the New Guy"10 out of 10 !!!Love this place!"

Metcalfe Fare Bar and Grill
I have been going there mostly for lunch but it's clean, cozy, service is good only one girl but you have to expect it for where it is. So I tried the Philly burger and it was so good, juicy, fresh meat and so tasty. Great fries nice and crispy. Other people at my table also had great looking and tasting food. I hope it stays open, a must go to place in Metcalfe.
