Peter Hemingway Fitness and Leisure Centre in Coronation Park

Probably one of the best Olympic pool facilities in the city. The pool is surrounded by glass so plenty of sun shines in making it feel like the closest thing to a beach in the middle of winter. I went mid day 1300hrs and the gym and pool wasn't overly busy. The gym is on the small side and it is in the basement with no windows. The humidity from the pool seems to makes its way into the gym a little. Despite its size and location the gym has character and everything you'd need for a good workout. This rec center has a sauna and steam room that both get cleaned daily. Staff are friendly and being a city work earned me 50% off on a day pass. Overall a good experience.

I used to swim here two or three times a week before the pandemic and liked the facility. It's close to home so I don't have to drive far. Like other people said, get with it and open up again.

This is a great facility. Locker rooms are clean. Love the dry sauna and there is a steam room. The pool is colder then usual but I don’t mind it. I love the Sunday aquasize instructor. She always makes sure everyone is comfortable with the movements and if not she will show a lower impact move. Positive attitude and really loves teaching.

I enjoy this facility very much, close and convenient To my home is the bonus.

Thoroughly enjoyed swimming at this pool. It has a lot of natural light coming in from the windows, its Olympic sized so 50m. Very clean in all areas, reasonable cost and a decent location. Appreciate that the lockers are free. Side note they don't have towels for rent so do remember to bring your own. Looking forward to going again.

Not bad for a public facility. It would be nice if they enforced the rules ( no cellphones, perfumes((take a shower!)). The facility has immense windows to let the sun in but they are always covered up. Please raise the blinds and let the sun in! This facility should be promoted a step above the other smaller centers (It is an architectural showpiece) and the price of admission should be raised slightly to reflect this. Good sauna!

Excellent facility, but 2 years after the pandemic it’s still closed. Now expected reopening is pushing from Q1 2023 to Q2 or Q3. Like another reviewer said, come on City of Edmonton, get it together!

I clicked on the project and now the anticipated opening is 2026!!!! This city is just horrible with completing anything on time. Too bad, it's a great place to swim.

Impressive facility! I love the huge windows and natural light while swimming. Water feels great, and the pool never feels super packed because of its huge size. I really like the complimentary lockers, the option to sauna or steam room and that there are lots of seating areas for spectators.

Love the design of the building. Natural light shinning on 50m swimming lane while you’re swimming is such a wonderful experience. The men change room needs some work, little outdated, roomier would be better. Other than that, this facility is well run. Most patrons are adults so people come to swim and relax.
