I had Todd's Trades Ltd provide me a quote in October 2020 for a small job and he was very professional, completed the job on time and went above and beyond. This one job lead to me hiring Matt for many other jobs. He installed attic hatches, insulation in ceiling, two new windows, new front step, new siding on my house, new garden door, and the list continues. I really appreciate Matt's eye to detail and always keeping me informed during the task at hand. I've had many compliments on the work that's been completed. Thank you Matt for the work and only a few more things to complete.

I'm surprised/confused about the other reviews (apart from the person who had a similar experience to me and who also gave Matt 1 star). In my opinion, he was unprofessional with a terrible attitude. I was selling my house and needed help with a window installation. I will list my experiences below. Thankfully, I found another carpenter (aged 67) who on short notice understood and completed the job in a few hours. He charged less than a third of the price Matt quoted me.Experiences:After keeping me waiting for a week, Matt got back to me at 5pm the night before to tell me he was coming at 8am the next morning.Matt arrived late. His friend" (whom I was due to he charged for) arrived 30 minutes late. Then they both chatted for 15 minutes not doing work.I asked Matt to take his shoes off so not to get dirt on my carpets. He appeared annoyed by this and used it to justify not doing the job (the subsequent carpenter put down protect sheets to make sure the carpet was not damaged without me even having to ask).Strangely muttered to himself in a way that was awkward an uncomfortable as I was walking him around the job.Yawned most of the way through our interactions. I experienced it like I was speaking to a teenager more than a professional.Put loud music on. This disturbed my wife who was working from home.The basement window I wanted him to install was smaller than the window bay so it would open and not hit a flower area infront of the window. He said the window was the wrong size and that installing it was a big job (the subsequent carpenter understood the size difference straight away

I needed an exterior door replaced and not only did they find a replacement door for me that day, but the new door was installed the very next day. The workmanship was great and very timely. I will definitely be calling Todd's Trades for work needed on my house in the future.

Matt has been great to work with! I used Todd's Trades to replace my entry door and two windows. Matt was very professional and, as another reviewer commented, pays attention to detail. The prices were very reasonable and I'm very happy with the end result. Now I have the nicest door on the street ;)

We were really impressed with Matt's skill and expertise. If you're looking for a contractor that's able to provide advice, explain what problems need to be resolved and work with you on options, Matt is your guy. After coming by for a few routine fixes — sealing windows and replacing some siding — he noticed a significantly rotted section of wall and did a fantastic job of cleaning out the rot, replacing the entire wall and closing up the space, while also making sure other vulnerable parts of the house were as water-proofed as they could be. Matt's work speaks for itself, and he's a nice guy to work with.

I highly recommend Todd's Trades. We had a renovation done by some other contractors who provided terrible service and work quality. It became clear that I needed to find someone I could trust and so spoke to several other contractors.When I reached out to Matt, he was responsive, communicated well and was extremely professional. On top of that he is knowable, capable and can see the bigger picture of a job.He replaced an exterior door, Fixed a mold issue, removed an interior wall, fixed up the flooring, drywalled and put in molding and baseboards.He was able to recommend a great company for a heat pump as well as electricians and plumbers.Having been in trades many many years ago as a jointer, I am extremely happy with the work done and will be using Todd's Trades as my go to contractor.

5 stars for Matt’s complete renovation of our home in Halifax! When we were faced with issues that arose during the reno, Matt assessed the situations, suggested solutions and kept us within our budget by thinking outside the box. See the photo of our railing; which Matt built for 1/5th the price of the original quote. Matt is a talented carpenter who takes pride in his work which can be seen in his amazing attention to detail. Matt is an excellent communicator, a skill that sets him above any contractor we’ve ever hired. Todd’s Trades has our unequivocal recommendation.

Extremely pleased with the work that Matt has completed for us ( will be having him back in the spring to take on more renovations for us as well). Days after purchasing our new home we put out a call on social media looking for a general tradesmen to change our back exterior door. Todds trades was mentioned several times so we gave him a call and very glad that we did. Matt was always bang in time each day and always stayed in constant communication with us throughout the job.
