In the last 4 years KES has not only been my school but my home. The spirit and camaraderie here is unmatched to any other school and I am beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to attend such an incredible school. The Kings-Edgehill community is not just a tight knit community, but a family, and you can feel it the moment you step on campus. In my time I have been given so many incredible opportunities to push myself academically , artistically and athletically, and through it all developed my leadership abilities immensely. I love this school with my whole heart and am so grateful to the staff faculty and students for helping me become the person I am today.

I love King’s Edge-hill more than my own mother, this place is allotted me more opportunities than I would’ve ever had, had I pursued my education in a different venue. I would die for KES.

I’d go back for another 5 years if I could, this school gave me the foundation I needed to move forward. I’ve met some of my best friends here. The teaching staff is incredible and will make sure every student has the resources to succeed if they choose to use them. Kings creates thousands of unique opportunities and experiences for students. This school helps students excel in all three pillars of academics, athletics and arts. If your considering this school I would highly recommend it.

Good, bad and ugly.Good: school spirit- lots of opportunities to play sports and take part in activities and clubs. Small class sizes, good variety of courses to select from. As with every school, there are some great coaches and teachers and others not so good. Chapel and cadets are wonderful aspects of the school and are are great traditions. The school uniform is distinctive and comfortable, an important part of showing unity and respect for traditions. Apparently the school has an agreement with universities in Nova Scotia to ensure all students will be accepted.Bad: Cafeteria hours are limited and students only have a 1 hour window during the week for dinner and 30 minutes on weekends. There is no breakfast on weekends and the opportunity to have brunch isn’t until 11:30am. More flexibility is needed.Another big issue is that the beds are “small singles” which means they are only 2 inches wider thena crib mattress. Everyone knows the importance of proper sleep but anyone over 5 feet tall and 100 pounds cant sleep comfortably in the dorm beds. Replacing these beds should be a priority. Be prepared for all the extra charges above and beyond tuition and board that will show up on your account- Transportation, technology fees, sports, plays, etc….Ugly: Rules and consequences are applied differently depending on the student and staff member. Evidence of positive and negative bias when choosing students for clubs, leadership positions, awards, etc. There is very little diversity in staff and because teaching degrees are not required in independent schools, every time there’s an opening, they hire someone’s relative. This is not limited to teachers, it’s residence staff, coaches, clerical, etc. Will your child like it here? Many do, but it’s important to be fully aware before deciding if it’s a good fit or not.

I’ve had the best 3 years of my life at Kings Edgehill. I have made the best of friends from around the world that will last a lifetime. I’ve been pushed to keep being more by trying new sports, clubs and leadership roles. It has been the best learning environment with a huge amount of support from teachers, peers and houseparents. It’s a school where everyone knows everyone so you won’t walk far down the hallway without stopping and having a friendly chat. I felt a warm welcome from the moment I stepped on campus, to my last few days her now as a senior. I wish these memories I’ve made here could last forever.

I went to this school since grade 8, and it has been an experience that I will never regret. This school is the right place for people with interests in any field, be it academics, athletics, or even arts. #GoHighlanders

Kings Edge-hill school, a place where dreams are made and fulfilled. A place where students goals, not only academically are reached to a high potential. Kings Edge-hill staff are so positive and want nothing more then their students to thrive and reach their best potential. I would recommend this school to anyone who wants a safe, positive and influential place to help them succeed. #Highlanders2023

King’s Edgehill School has been one of the best experiences of my life thus far. It was such a great way to spend my middle and high school life.Between all the opportunities of sports, clubs, volunteering, leaderships, arts etc. I have been able to try many new things. The education and dedication from the teachers for us to succeed is very appreciative. I have made the memories and friendships of a lifetime. I have lived and thrived in both day and boarding life. I would highly recommend either to a student looking to come and I will always consider kes my family and home.
