I highly recommend Diamond and Heart construction! They just finished my basement and I’m very impressed. I’m incredibly picky and took my time to select the best company that would do quality work and genuinely treat us as valued customers. Reza, Shawn and the rest of the team were awesome to work with and made our basement look incredible. They were so positive and professional and always included me in the decision-making process. They made my basement look just like the dream photo I shared with them at the start of the project. :)

One of the worst construction experiences! Hired them in 2019 sept, to install laminate floors and make entrance into garage and install garage door. While garage door was done ok, job on laminate floors was absolutely horrible! Floor pieces are moving side to side, in areas around door cases, too much was cut and now there are massive holes, around stairs, bolts were used and holes were covered with clay. Absolutely horrible job! Called them to come and fix it, and nothing was done. Do not recommend!Update to address reply (Reza's below comments):1. There was nothing to unpack on the main floor where job was done. Furniture hasn't arrived yet.2. Material hadn’t been pre purchased. Contractor and myself went to local Lowe’s together, to pick up material, laminate, underlayment, door/frame. I was looking for contractors guidance and advice on quality and selection, relying on his experience. No concerns were raised at the moment of purchase nor during the installation.3. Baseboards were removed, and were reused/reinstalled after the job was done.4. Door casings were not removed, however I have not been asked to remove them. I was away at work from 9-5 everyday, not being able to monitor the work in progress, while relying on their professionalism, judgement and expertise.5. Existing hardwood flooring were in perfect shape, with no squeaks or damages. My concern with the floor was the old school colour. I was not asked or recommended by contractors to remove the floor. The choice to not remove existing hardwood was mine, however I was open to suggestions/professional opinion, while off course trying to keep costs down.6. Price per sq ft has been matched from another quote ($1.5 sq.ft). And was a ~dollar less per sq ft than what initially what I was quoted by DAH construction. My expectation that quality would not be impacted by the price match. However I was constantly reminded throughout the job by contractor that for this price I shouldn’t be expecting great results. I was charged extra for garbage removals and for door alignments/cuts.7. Laminate flooring job was expected/agreed to be done by 2 contractors, in the end was done by one, which took longer than expected (~1-2 weeks). With 2 visits, after the job was done.8. I was not happy at the end with the job. My concerns were raised with contractor (Shawn). The gaps by door casings were addressed with putty clay to match laminate colour. Concerns with the stairs transitions were addressed by installing metal tile ending, which was bolted onto the floor. Pictures attached.9. Flooring that was done on the second floor were also installed onto the existing hardwood, 3 weeks after DAH construction job was completed. For same price as DAH construction without charging extra for door casing removals, garbage removals, door cuts/alignments. Their job was done in 2 days. There are no concerns or issues with this job. Do not want to compare jobs, or were not even planning on referring to it, however this was raised in the below reply. More than welcome to attach pictures from the job.10. I’ve called Reza, after his reply. He has confirmed he is open to come in with contractor, Shawn, to inspect and propose changes to address the concerns.Update as of March 20th, 2021Reza came in on March 16th.Inspected and blamed these issues on me, my poor decision making and my poor and cheap selection of materials (laminate, door, etc). According to him the price per sq ft that he matched is ridiculous and I got what I payed for. He is working on 1 million dollar projects, and he feels insulted dealing with peasants. He proposed 3 options:1 to fix 2 items that he acknowledged as issues related to installation.2 pay over 300-600 bucks for material and installation to fix issues with stairs3 (the most impressive) he would pay me $1000 to “leave me ALONE”. As per Reza, that would more than cover the labour cost related to laminate installation.I selected option 4, get the hell out of my house and will see what life gift you with. Good luck Reza.
