Quality Printing

My initial experience was great. Spoke on the phone, very professional, stated he's been serving the local community for over 30 years and quoted me a price. After sending over artwork for the labels via email, I was quoted $17 more than the original quote plus $15 for the coating. This was fine as the prices were still fair but I was thrown off by the change. He struggled to work with the files because they weren't set up to his liking. This was fine, I paid someone to have them set up with the specs he wanted so he could work with them easier. Keep in mind, I had these designed professionally to begin with and optimized for print. I had someone print these for me before with no issues.I was very happy as they were done the next day. I picked them up and I was extremely pleased with the quality of the labels.I sent another label variant over the weekend stating I would like to have these done as well. I understand that small quantities aren't optimal for print companies so I was willing to order more than I needed to make it easier on him. He responded but seemed irate, and stated he requires a minimum $45 for 25 labels and that the more I order, the cheaper he can go, such as $90 for 100. This was understandable and again, I was willing to order as much necessary to make it easier on him but I had to say something at this point, that he quoted me much less than that for my first 100 labels, and asked if he had a pricing tier list so I could remain consistent moving forward. No response for over 24 hours. I then get a very unprofessional emailing stating he charges by the hour, and he's tired of emailing back and forth and to give him a break.I am a new small business here in town and was looking for someone to hopefully have a continued working relationship but this guy does not seem to want to do the work or make money. I wanted to support local as this town is really big on that, but unfortunately I will be using a larger company out of town.
