Big Buffalo Resort

We were bicycling across Canada and had just ridden from Winnipeg. We pulled up to the hotel and found that it was closed for renovations. When we went over to Big Buffalo, we were told that they were not open yet either because of maintenance.I sensed that they were nice people so I asked if they could help us by making a cabin available for the night. They did so graciously. These are great hospitality people.

We had a great experience! The couple who are in charge of the resort are super friendly and helpful, getting you everything you need right away and offering suggestions to make your stay more enjoyable. Our cabin was very clean. Loved having a/c and the use of full-size BBQs. The playground is amazing and our daughter loved playing in it! The resort is very quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend staying here.

This place has your basic necessities and is VERY clean! We took bikes and it was a short ride to the beach. Very family-friendly place.

Owners were gracious and professional. Cabins are clean and well kept and SUPER cute mid century, to me it's perfect but given their age they may be considered niche" by some. Everything was well stocked (bring your own steak knives though)

Very nice facility.Free firewood.BBQs included for useBeds are comfortable.Unit 17 had a small fridge and hotplate. Other units have bigger fridges and full size stoves. 17 had a fabulous shower.Bring your food and clothes and enjoy the facilities. All pots etc there to use. Convenient to everything.Clean tidy well managed.Lots of toys etc for kids. Very kid friendly.

Great location, it's very close to the lake. The cabins were outdated for sure, it has all the necessity you need but the owners/caretakers were always on our tail with small things. The fire on our pit was ok and we were told it was too high, meanwhile the other cabins they had it really high.Additional plus is its very family oriented but could be better with the cabins it self.. 3/5 but would not stay again here.

If you are looking for a place to relax around a fire with a few drinks and have a few laughs and allow your children to run and play...this is NOT the place. This is the second time we stayed here and both times we were told we had to be quiet if we god forbid laughed a little too loud. Our kids were told to go in their cabins at 945pm simply because they were playing. When I question why they were told that as quiet time is stated as 11pm, we were told we had to be respectful.of others that may have small children. Cabins arent stocked well, no sheets for pullout couch, no steak knives, had to cut our meat with large sword like knives. Wont be returning.
